Input level and distortion

Hi - I noticed when I record through the line in input, my sample sounds distorted after it’s been normalized. My gain level isn’t high when recording. I actually turned it down to check if that’s the problem but it still sounds distorted after being normalized.

I updated the firmware to 2.0.5

I don’t believe when I was on 2.0.3 I had any problem with the gain level or distortion issue. I’m going to try to go back to 2.0.3 to see if it’s the new firmware update.

Probably not firmware related because im not experiencing that.

This sounds like typical input gains/level settings. You CAN overload the input stage on this machine. Normalizing is a band aid. Use your ears and keep dynamic range alive bro.
