No mater what anyone says, OP is going to counter it. Life goes on. Some people live to argue.

Your MPC software (standalone and computer-based) wouldn't be where it is today without Fanu and a few other users. He constantly gave valuable feedback to AKAI (here, on twitter etc.) for years, long before the X and Live where announced or even planned.

If your X and Live work for you and your workflow, that's great. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with demanding basic features and functionality!

Fanu is definitely not a troll. I can name a few thaat are really trolls but Fanu is not one. He helped me with some stuff.

I think Marctronix is being taken out of context.

People around here value quantity over quality. They'd rather read the same nonsense over and over again written by a clueless dude than a helpful post coming from a user who knows his shit.

But hey, what do I know.

you know what? im interested in buying a live... thank you fanu for being objective and critical. I prefer knowing where a machine stands beforehand (we don't have return policies here like you hear about stateside) ... especially after a decade of akai making trash products so you don't know if it's just hype or if it's real.

It's just hard to get real info on a machine with all these cult like loyalists who try to shut down anything that is less than dick riding. You found a real issue? the response is "why don't you move on to another product and stop mentioning the flaws that the machine I use has." It's like they take it personally because akai missed a detail... Defending those mistakes hold a product back... the devs read this stuff so stop trying to hide mistakes people find. And furthermore.. people who are doing research on a product before buying one don't have an easy time trying to wade through these threads when it's filled with people trying to counter objective criticism.

I get the critical part, and keeping the fire to akai’s feet but the overly dramatic post are pointless. I legitimately was trying to help, and only repeating what fanu has said for MONTHS. If he can’t “love” it, wants to throw it in the trash, plus whatever else he’s been saying why come here a few times a week to restate how you feel or threaten to leave the forum/mpc workflow. It’s drama queen shit, and really not productive.

Plus if you’re beta testing like the new ableton, NI stuff how is it not biased? You want the mpc work flow but complain it doesn’t have features of a daw like newest unrealeased daw he just name dropped...... I’m sure I’m not the only one who sees this. I respect fanu’s work, his videos are really helpful, and really don’t consider him a troll. However the way he goes about his criticisms seems the opposite of what you’re saying. You want info, I’m sure there are anough live users out there to give it to you. I have my issues, especially with giving updates that create other problems. Ie. the phaser effect issue with the last update.

Criticism is good. I have criticized Ableton as much as I have Akai…probably even more, along the years.
Some of that criticism has raised internal conversations among the company. I've received personal thanks from them for that. And even if this may sound like the corniest statement ever written on this forum, they like me a lot for that.
I've offered similar help to Akai; no response.

I've seen Ableton develop and respond to users' needs.

PS: Did send a tweet to Pete and Geoff about this (no reply) as well as send a bug report via the software.

Constructive criticism is great. Did you tell them to fix it or you were going to throw it in the trash? I assume you handle professional issues a lot differently then posts here....
look man, personally I have a lot of respect for your work. Way back when you a video of a beat you made on the software. It was fire, you can rock the f out of it, even with its draw backs. Keep the criticism flowing however you want to display it, if you feel it’s constructive. I’m done with this stupid thread.

I asked them whether leaving writing automation out of return tracks was an oversight.
I've been communicating with companies for a fairly long time and I think I do a decent job at it.

Personally, I'm fine with seeing a bit of emotion on forums, especially when it's real. We all know if this was moderated by Akai, 50% of the posts here would get deleted (yes, they do that elsewhere…the Get Satisfaction forum).
That's why I wish Akai was reading this forum, as this is the place where some REAL MPC users hang…users who actually know what the devices should do…users whose feedback would be (and would've been…) valuable to the development of the products, and in a way I feel it's almost too late for some of that now.

The day I stop criticizing a company/product is the day I truly don't care anymore.
