Put ebay down!!! lol Focus man. Lmao

That's what l did went completely inside the box. I have the top name brand stuff with over 20,000 sounds. Im good!

With the implementation of the Live and the Air instruments l have nothing to worry about thats for sure. Going ITB was the best idea.

Cockdiesel wrote:Not at the moment. It’s interesting for sure, but I’m trying to downsize some and move some stuff in the box. Trying to get rid of a bunch of synths and mainly use the computer and the asr-10 for synth sounds. I think the direction I’m heading that the granular software would really get interesting with the asr in terms of patch designing. I keep finding deals on craigslist and ebay when I’m trying to offload stuff though so it’s making it hard, lol.

You're not going to buy no more gear?

Danoc <------just fell the hell out l'm died! Lmao

Yeah that baby loads up quick. Its my main go to. I mix in Reason. The routing is stupid crazy! I can mix the Korg Triton Refill sounds with Omnisphere 2 and Sylenth and a Nexus sound with no CPU killing. Working with the Live makes it all fun.

Certified Beatz wrote:Yeaast night installed all the additional software on launch around 3 am.. loads fast getting my feet wet know .. good promo i was gonna wait a few months.. worth the upgrade might make it my main software for the next 4 months.. killer.. and no im not gonna by another peice of hardware anythime soon lol

yoyo!

Aaah I see, yeah sometimes it's nice to no complicate things.

Danoc wrote:Wat up Aortan.
Oh nah, l do my drums in Live software export them and drag and drop into Reason. That's my work flow. Doing it the way you said would do me no good being l mix in Reason.

aortan wrote:Also messing with the reason 10 trial. It's pretty cool! :)
So you are recording the audio from reason into the MPC live via a plugin?
Or into the MPC software, when the Live is in controller mode?

You wont complicate things. You can take the Live add midi that up to you computer like you would a keyboard. Go in Reason "Preferences" under "Controllers" and add it to the list. You can bang out drums on the Kong cause the Kong has 16 pads and you have 16 pads on the Live or X. You can bang out drums on the Redrum too. And use Reason's sequencer. You can play the instruments too cause the Live and X has so many banks now you can deal with the various octaves. You can use the transport on both machines. Live is limited on fast forwarding but the X is not. I have an Alpha Track for my transport use.

This is a deadly freakin combo.

Did you use the word nice? lol Its better than nice, its Butter Crunch ice cream & Honey Bun cake good lol haahahaaa .

With this combo you get the real feel of the MPC and those thick pads under your finger tips, when you bang out into R-10 it just becomes this big arse massive beast that can take you from zero to ten in like 5 seconds. Latency is not a problem as previous. Im inside the box with no interface and killin it. It keeps getting better and better.

I can take the Triton Rack original sounds that is a refill for Reason which looks just like the Triton Rack, it goes up to 14 layers which you add 14 Triton sounds on top of each other then route that to the R.E. Hydronexius and have a new complete sound. Take the Live or X and make the drum pattern of your choice and go to work.

You can take sounds chop them and assign them to the pads and make crazy new melodies. Bro l have so many options with this combo its overwhelming! But l have it under control. And most of all its fun. :smoker:

Man you got a lot going on danoc. I would just want a few programs, like 1 or 2, that can help me with material for key-group /patch design. Once I have some patches, play around with them otb and do my final mixing back on ableton. the computer leaves me really uninspired to make music in terms of arrangement.

CB what l showed aint even breakin the tip of the ice.
lol yeah what l have ITB can be overwhelming for most but l have my stuff categorized in such a way l know where to go when l need what l need to get the job done on a timely basis.

I love sound desiging ITB. I get to use a lot of features that you don't get OTB.

What two programs are you looking at to help you with your key grouping?

I didn't know you were using AbLive.

Not sure yet, tbh. The asr was the first “pro” sampler I owned and I never got into the sound synthesis aspect of it. I actually sold it to buy the mpc 4000 I still own about 10-12 years ago. It’s an easy machine but keygroups on either machine are still “new” to me as I use to only chop up samples on them and had synths for synth stuff. In recent years I got more into hardware synths, and even taking a break from music for a few years with moving all over the country. I imagine I have enough vsts already, but tbh I don’t put much time in the computer. In the process of changing that. There are some good threads on here for sound design itb for the asr that I will be making more use of,
Keeping my eye on that granular program though.

:WTF: l was joking and comes out you have a freakin ASR  smh

I worked on the 4000 in the early 2000's, l was doing frum design and drum programming for Junad, Slick Ricks producer and that machine is a beast. Just to big for my taste.

That Grain joint is the sickest piece l heard. I just did some chords dragged and dropped it in Grain and turned a few knobs and baaaammm! My singer is like :WTF: just happened? Lmao then l told her watch it get sicker, l ran that joint through the Alligator and fixed it to my liking and sync it up to the tempo and we both peed in our britches lol
Started pounding on the MPC Live and its ova!!!

Its crazy ova hete bro lol

Yea, I just want my setup to be the asr and the live plus an effects box or two. Use the computer to make my samples/instruments and mixing. Currently I’m going through the other gear I have and comparing them. Modular is gone, to time consuming, synths are going besides one or two. lastly unless I find a use for the other samplers I have, they will go too. Been making some good money selling stuff off, there are way more hardware fiends out there, way worse than me with way more money too. I plan on doing some comparisons and posting them with some of the cooler stuff I have. It’s hard for me to let go of samplers for some reason. Lol

Ummm l noticed you called others fiends lol but you can't seem to let some go? Hahaa
Thats like a dope addict who uses 4 bags of dope telling anothet dope addict thst uses 9 bags you're more of a drug addict than l am l only use 4 bags. Yet they are both dope addicts lol

The first step to hardware sobriety is to admit you're a fiend CB lol man you got me choking over here lol.

Yo CB that would be a dope combo though.

Baby steps danoc.... lol
Imagine if you wanted to slim down your software setup.... you have some tough desicions to make. Plus I’m sure you check out programs to see how they work for you as well. I imagine the software bug can be bad if not worse than the hardware one.
