Lets talk about the Live verses the 2000XL. Forget aboyt the 4000, 3000 etc. If we go there then all l gotta do is bring in the X!
Which will smash those machines.

Now, if Smack or whoever thinks the 2000XL is better than the Live then lets put up a list fir list of the two. I got a long ass list to display for the Live. Put up the 2000XL and what it can do and l will do the Live.

Then the OP can decide because it is his decision in the end.

I never said it was better and even in that post I said I wouldn't do it, most people know you can't export stems out of the legacy MP's (Come'on Man) and what is a SD card good for :hmmm: maybe saving a s*!t load of beats on it instead of 10 different zip drives....
I know your the Live's biggest fan boy but these new machines really don't need all the hype you pump, they are great on there own......

This is 2000XL vs Live op did this. He wanna know. Im saying the Live is. You're the one who brought up all these machines and trying in your head to some how justify the old technology is good now.

Sd card save wat beat from the 2000XL?samples or stems? Why on earth wood you mention that? The Live can too save a sh** load if beats on a SD card... and?
That point means crap in 2017 and beyond, unless we are talkimg about stems. What the hell good is it to save some beats on a SD card if its not the track you made on the 2000XL in its pure form as a loop . you can't save a wav loop you made on the 2000XL to a SD card but you can on the Live. In standalone mode!

For the million time, l love the 2000XL but its not and l repeat not f***ing wit no Live on any dam level. I had a 2000XL and l got a live. Do you have a live right now? See lm able to talk on both.

Fanboy? You're still using that term? I aint heard that since 06' smh

The reversible regurgitated backward Incompatible crap you're spewing is pure crap. Word life!

Why in the crap would homie go backward when he could go foward and have a machine for the next 10 years with new technology? So you and your wizardry think he should get the 2000XL and keep that another 10 years? By then a new MPC will be comi g or out. :WTF:

Again show us the sh** the 2000XL can over the Live and l will make a long ass list.

Again on no level is the 2000XL f***ing the Live.

I think any machine can be the perfect machine for someone. Even if on paper it doesn’t stack up. It’s all in how the work flow vibes with someone. No question there are differences between Mpcs over the last 30 or so years, they all have the mpc workflow but have different features that may or may not be deal breakers for each and everyone. I can see someone preferring the midi options on the older units as the live right now isn’t finished in that department. Multimbral support comes to mind but has been mentioned to be included in an update.

The live is great, but so are all the other Mpcs out there. That’s why people pay as much or even more for the older Mpcs. Check out some of the listings for mpc 60’s and 3000’s. Yet I seen mpc 4000 going for half as much but offers so much more,

Oh yeah 3000,$ 1,200 to $3000. I myself would be better off getting the X which cheaper.
You're right about work flow. For me right now the 2000XL is not for me. I hope the OP talk more on his flow and what he is looking for.

Smh again I never said it was better fanboy and your the one that's spits out bad/false information then gets mad when someone corrects you!!!! I only brought up the 2500 when Ldog posted was the live vs 2k even fair, I said the 2500 with jjos would be a better comparison only corrected you when you said that the 2500 & 4000 couldn't add a hard drive through the USB port which is very much so False/Not true, I don't care what speed it is the 4k can hook up a hard drive through it's USB port point blank period....... Then you come back talking bout the live can fly in stems and fly out stems and build a hole track with just one Q-links twist lol what MPC can do that, C'MON man you know the Live is the only one that can do that FANOC :-D

And why would the op want to go back in technology, hmmmm let me think, O he started a whole thread about it brainiac!!!!!

Wow! Can you say Red Herrings?

First off lm not angry that's only you thinking that. Why get angry? We're only talking about machines. Smh

Do you know what staying on topic means? 2000XL vs MPC Live!.
Not the 4000, he's not interested in the 4000 and its 1.1 old usb crap. Loading huge amounts of sounds would be a nightmare if he listened to you. Heck would he want to buy into a 4000 with when he can get two 3.0 USB ports that is faster?
Its as old as your term fanboy. You have a backwards mentality.
The Live load sounds lighting fast!

I'm going to use common sense, if homie wanna be kept up to date MPC Live is the best route. Because of its functions and the great price he could get it for and a new machine.

In FACT the 2000XL screen could give out and he would have to pay $250 to get that fixed and its used. The Live he will be under warranty!

If you're not saying the 2000XL is better than the Live why are you typing then? Read the OP's quote. "Verses"!

I asked you 2 questions and you skipped-to-my-Lue right around it.

1. Show the better functions of the 2000XL over the Live. I will show a Sh** load of the Live functions over the 2000XL!

2. DO YOU HAVE THE LIVE! If you dont l expect you not to talk. You can't talk in depth about the Live if you don't have it.

Well if he’s looking for a rock solid sequencer for outboard gear, no nonsense punchy aggressive percussion, sample loops with percussive Harmonics or texture, and a machine specifically designed for creating and playing drums....I would say the 2000XL.

Anything else get the newer MPCs.

I embrace the new MPCs. I think they’re dope, but I keep my 4000 and 2KXL around for a reason. Drums I sample sound way better on my hardware MPs than the new ones. The 2KXL’s punch right through the mix, the 4K’s sound fuller.

Now if you’re a Audio engineer wizzard the sound of the machine probably won’t matter too much.

I agree about the punchy sound out of those hardware devices. For me l can make my kicks punchy so lm good. For the Op he needs to tell what hes looking for. Punch or mordern functions or both.

You can get punch out of your kicks using EQ and filters in the Live it has many various types that lm sure he'll love. The effects are dope in the Live too.

The featutes my Live have makes me feel like lm on a computer but not on a computer if you know what l mean.

I'd choose a 2000xl over a Live. The 2000xl is proven technology, a solid workhorse while the Live seems to have bugs and has bad quality control. I also like having the 8 individual outputs of the xl, it's nice to connect 8 tracks to a mixer and have direct control over volume and eq with actual faders. The 2000xl is also cheaper..
The Live looks like an iPad in a case to me.. I also suspect that it has a cheap and slow cpu..

And if you want to use 'new technolgy', you can connect the 2000xl to a laptop via midi and use VST synths in a VST host like Ableton Live..

I agree if you want to be out the box and deal with a board. It is solid.

Being cheap? Depends. If you're not getting the 8 outs then from $350 to $400. If you get 8 outs the price can go all the way to $900.l got my live for $959. I have no bugs etc. Only time l had a major problem is because it was my fault.
As l said the screen can and will on some units 2000XL go out.

Slow CPU? Where did you get that from may l ask? The CPU is very fast its not slow at all. Once l loaded some sounds and it loaded so fast l didnt know it it loaded. I thought something was wrong. lol It is not slow bro.

Foreal give him a check or some pom poms....

To Op the 2000xl is a great machine and it's not backwards tech at all it's actually a proven workhorse and has been used to make countless hits, it's very easy to master, just the right amount of features and you also get full transport controls.... The live does sound good but not like an XL.... On the flip side of that coin the live is dope with all the new tech but it's new so it's still getting the kinks worked out and features added but seems to be shaping up nicely.... Curious to hear why some of you guys feel the midi of the live is not quite ready yet, that's a serious problem for a person with alot of hardware...

Yeah they should give me a check. But both machines are Akai!!! :WTF:

Yes and countless hits will be made with the Live and X. 2000XL had its time. Now riddle me this how in the heck would you know how good thebLive sound? Do you have the live?

Man both machines can sound good it depends on the end user!
I remember when peeps were saying the 2000XL didn't sound as good as the 3000 now here yall go again. Its really bullcrap.

You vanished when l asked the question. Show us what the 2000XL has over the Live and l will show you more what the live has over the 2000XL! !! Lets go!!!!
