Synth sounds in keygroup programs?

Odd question: has anybody used a tone generator to make a tone (like a sawtooth wave) and put it in a keygroup program? I was thinking about doing that and making my own synth sounds until I can save up some money to get a KingKORG.

You can use a tone generator, but even better, any sample you have will work to create your own synth sounds.
