Mpc Live vs Mpc 2000xl

Sadly, we'll see how soon Nukai drops support for the new MPC's.

I have to say that Akai f*cking over the Ren and Studio owners was really a good thing since it made me realize that the best thing about using any MPC is not using it.

I have been slowly purging my MPC (and it was a lot of them) to the point where I have a 60 as a reminder of the good times and a Ren that is impossible to give away.

Don't let a fanboy fool you with their love for the new MPCs and their incredible faith in Akai, dealing with the current Akai company is still something that you should tread lightly on.

Over the last 2 years I have come across very few working producers or DJs who even look at MPCs (old or new) when it comes to getting work done and I feel the same way.

Been on this forum for quite a long time but this is the final logout for sure.
Most of the people I knew are gone and there's little reason to stop by since most of the post are just people spurting opinions instead of real info sharing.

I love my legacy mpcs as much as the next one. I currently own the 5000,3000 and the live but the portability of the live and the live looper has allowed me to create in ways I never thought about before.
And the sound quality on the live is also official as hell.

Get the live it’s no competition.

The LIVE cant receive or transmit MIDI System Exclusive info which I find to be a major drawback for setting up and controlling external MIDI hardware in a live enviroment. Its also not possible to edit a lot of MIDI data which is usually a given on most sequencers.

If you're mad at Akai take your crap to them and tell Akai about the Ren and Studio. See l was smart not to go that route and it paid off. No one put a gun to your heatoto get the Ren or Studio if ya got it.

hell yeah. The Live and the X is off the chain. The dam pre amps in the Live is sweet as fugg! Man put a mic to it and its crazy clean. Where is the mic pre in the 2000XL?

I am also doing things with the Live that l never thought was possible. Its smaller than the 2000XL and HAS A BATTERY!

The clutter of wires is eliminated with the Live. The screen is bigger and you can touch it? This is wonderful that it can do that and don't have to squint your eyes at a small screen.

No one in their right mind can clown the Live sound quality. The live is a bad ass at the moment.

It'll be a paperweight in another year or two, Jahrome.

Word the fact that it's battery powered makes it my favorite hands down. No power adapter is dope. And I also love the fact that with the live looper I'm Not even using midi that often. The live looper has also made tracking out my Mpc 3000 and some of my older gear a breeze. From There I'm saving to memory stick and then mixing in reason 10. Shit is crazy dope!

I love my 5000 but the live to me sounds better and more punchy. That's just my opinion. But still even in this day in age the 5000 is a work horse. If you miss it you should grab one on the cheap!

Hold up homie you got Reason 10? Yo l do too. I use the Live midi up to R10 a go nuts! Dam we on that same boat. R10 is just sick. I can bring sounds from the Klang put them the pads and go! That is the most deadliest combo imo out righ now.

How about the the live in standalone mode with automation? It kills the wack automation attempt on the 2000XL period!

The QLink knobs functions are sicker than the 2000XL can ever be. I got a whole list of what the Live can do.

I couldn't believe how dude try and say the CPU on the live is slow. Gtfoh with that. CrazyEddie let'em know how fast the Live load up sounds.

Man.... people get riled up when comparing even two Mpcs....

learned a lot this year checking out forums. Haters, fan boys and hype. All these companies chasing the same money with help from sites like http://www.usedopamine.com/mobile/index.html, big data analytics and cult like followings. Consumerism at its finest.

The mpc live is the updated mpc I’ve been wanting for some time. It’s a work in progress and all that jazz but besides a few bugs I personally don’t need much more. What the future holds, well is anyone’s guess. I know that’s an opinion but it’s mine. Also rekindled my love of the asr-10 and got to check out a lot of differnt gear this year. I’m fortunite as I don’t have children to worry about financially and my health keeps me wondering how much time I have left so I decided to enjoy it. I stepped away from music for awhile, and would like to thank NUkai for bringing me back to something I’ve been missing. Feel free to talk shit about my health and the fact I thanked the worst company in the world.

These first world problems shouldn’t bring out the worst in people but they do. I’ve been there , most people who will read this have been as well. The internet is a shitty place.

So get out your credit cards, get your “dark trinity” before the mk2 comes out, stay away from akai because it’s just consumer grade junk, pay 8 grand for that vintage sound, and never not once access your needs and settle on a piece of gear old or new, there’s always missing features, and “ superior gear”. We think with a hive mind and if you don’t assimilate with the borg we will write things on the internet that will make you want to argue.

If I try to help you or am excited about some gear please feel free to argue with me. Let’s just waste our time instead of actually making music or really do anything productive.
