New vid l did. I can use the Live without midi it up to the computer and just get busy.,Reason is sick!

Oh I did, I upgraded from R4. I used to have a 2500 and use it with R9. Kind of fell off on making music in 2012. Recently got a MPC X, so now I have both of these. Now I need to relearn everything all over again.

How is everyone using the X and Reason?

I always loved reason and have bought 9.5 awhile back gonna upgrade soon to 10 and I got the X few months ago so I thought I had to use them pretty much separate, I'm just tryin to learn homie. When I seen this post how excited you was I got real happy to know someone out there masterin Reason and the MPC mix.

If I have questions on setup and how you running your systems together you happy to help me out big bro?

So you got the X huh? How you likin that joint? Man you got a beast on your hands and l totally advise you to get MPC-Tutors "MPC X/Live Bible. 528 pages of pure MPC instructional bliss! If you don't already have it.

A big misconception about working the new MPCs with any Daw, just so happens l have Reason 10 and man let me tell ya, whew what a hellava combo! I can use it two different ways in that setup. What makes the combo so pleasant is the capabilities of the X/Live and software and its so easy and a good work flow.

I only wish Parsec 1 or 2 was included with Reason. I feel like as soon as I buy it it's going to be included in the next update.

lmao funny you say that, I was thinking that with Radical Piano, I didn't buy into it, and now it comes with it smh. Good call on my part. Wait it out. I got Hydronexius, swhewwwwww boy! That thing is sweet, that's the only RE I bought. But I am working on this track now I just did with the Grain, OMG! new vid coming soon!

It's so beautiful with the Live though, I can open up the software in Reason or rock my drums in standalone and drag and drop them in Reason. I do standalone drums if I can remember what's in my head, if I don't want to lose what's in my head i use the software, it's quicker and already in Reason 10 so I can lay down any melodies etc real quick without loosing the idea. But the sequencer on the Live is so dam tight now it makes me feel like I am on the MPC 2000XL, only one thing, when I use the note repeat that first note for some reason now, don't hit on the one but hits great everywhere else on time and on the grid. So Now I just either tap it all in my hihats or let it go full length then tap in the first note, no biggie to me. But I found that odd, wasn't happening before. But now I can do hats in the Live and then cover those with using Reason and my method there, CRAZY!!!

Got my iLok3 USB device last night saved my licence to the Key, installed my 2.0 software, installed the MPC X driver and updated the firmware to 2.0.5.

Now I'm tryin to figure out how to make the hardware communicate with the software

When I load a drum on a pad and hit it the software pad lights up but I don't hear the drum.

Happy as hell I got all that stuff done now time to learn 2.0 lol

I am planning on sequencing reason rack from the mpc live, like I used to my hardware rack from my old mpc.
And then tracking everything out to my daw for mixing.
Is anyone else doing it that way?

I don't think anyone us doing that. Might have one or 2 doing it if that.

If you want the X to communicate with the 2.0 software all you have to do is go tp controller mode from your X. I have the Live.

If you dont hear a sound when you hit the pad something is not turned up.

Could you please describe in detail how your setup to run the mpc vst plugin inside reason 10? I just purchased a mpc touch and i can see mixer vol levels and sound, but i'm unable to record. Are you controlling reason from your live? If so how are you setup? there's just no documentation available for how to use the vst in Reason. I have opened tickets with Akai and no one will return my responses. I have been a reason user for a long time and wanted to change up my workflow with the mpc touch. These problems are not what i had in mind and i'm getting to the point where i'm about to call sweetwater and send the gear back. Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!
