Ways to save large projects

Hey guys! I was wondering because I'm not a manual head right now.. Lol

Is there anyway to save large projects without re-saving content like a huge key group, of let's say 500mb already stored on my internal HD?

Saving a 500mb key group or program twice really eats up a lot of HD space.

Any work arounds, or do we have to go and spend tons of money on back up hard drives?

No, each project will duplicate any resources used within it, so first step is to stop using 500MB keygroup programs - anyway, you only have around 600mb of free RAM. Optimise the program, this is a standalone unit, it has very real memory restrictions so you can't really use hefty keygroup programs. Do you need so many keygroups or layers within the program? Are the samples themselves optimised (looped, tailed, mono, etc)?

Some of my wavs are stereo files at 9 secs long. Optimizing is something I'm looking into as we speak
