I just didn’t vibe with it. It’s a cool box and all, just not for me. I gave it months but I just couldn’t get things to sit right in that box. The pioneer box is more of what I was looking for, I only had an analog heat beforehand and figured I’d give them a shot with the digitakt.

Odd. I've only seen ppl say positive things about DT's sound. Seen some say it sounds better than OT. I don't have the DT, so I'm not defending it. I do have the OT, and I have no probs with its sound. Tried the DT at a store with headphones once and thought it sounded real strong.

But yeah, the stereo->mono issue can be serious, so pay attention to it.
E.g., last night I bought and old percussion pack (Junk Percussion by Zero-G), and while I like its sounds, I found that some sounds had this really wide stereo image, and making it mono in my DAW felt like things drop some 7 dB in level...so always pay attention to that when monoing (or when widening as well).

Also, if you route a sampler to your audio interface's input, and out that way, that can often be a weak link if you have a cheap interface.
Me, I rock UAD…want to have the signal as strong as can be.

The sound is really good on the Digi. But its really auto-normalizing everything you sample in, thats the thing. But mono doesn't bother me, it has panning for the output.

I'd guess that's making up for the loss of level when monoing some stereo sounds.

Not sure if it was just the mono, normalizing or what, I just didn’t care for the sound of the thing.

Really not trying to cut the thing down either, it’s a dope box. Just didn’t vibe with it. Lots of people will be doing good things with it.

Truth, the filters are wild beasts! I blew out a couple bookshelf amps and silenced my monitors for a moment due to the HEAVY low end. I have a feeling a future update will limit those filters back to normal.
