New firmware update available for live 2.0.7

please instead of a still malfunctioning firmware upgrade, make a functioning hardware upgrade with longer lasting internal drive. Lost everything today. Big thanks!

Does anyone know if Midi OUT over USB will ever be implemented?

okay so I wanna like the mpc x but one thing is killing me most of all..

going into the track mute screen (and sometimes other screens) make it lose sync.. you can hear it skip a beat or two and makes me think I seriously could not use this thing live as is. Im running the latest firmware 2.0.7
basically if you use an mpc in a live context, you know that its all about popping in and out of the track mute screen and the program edit screen to make adjustments.
If you are slaving other gear off the mpc via midi clock and it jumps around its a trainwreck, and even if you dont it still sounds bad. you should be able to mash buttons and not worry about it losing sync

I hope this can be fixed..

ALSO equalling annoying.. Im noticing when I start to fill up the ram with samples scrolling through them to place them into my programs is really slow! like it can barely do it and you have to wait for the scrolling to catch up.



while i'm ranting there are a few things missing I hope akai is listening:

#1 you should be able to select a track from the track mute screen, JJOS has this by
pressing shift then the track and when you pop into main screen you're on that track.

#2 when you are making a drum program, when you place a sample and then move to another pad, the
sample list should be at the sample sample you just loaded. reason being if you have a long list of drum hits you dont wanna have to start at the top every time and scroll down, esp if you got alot of ram like this thing has
its a big waste of time

- lfo delay, and better scaling for the lfo destinations. (hard to get subtle vibrato)
-portamento!
-crossfade looping on samples !


Im not in any way hating on akai, I did notice an improvement in the sync quality with this last update which is great,
and Im simply encouraging further development in this area.

More shortcuts using shift + pads is welcome. We need more shortcuts.

Big ups to Akai for actually working on regular updates and bug fixes, but it would be nice to have a roadmap and to see them working on big updates, like real automations in standalone mode...

I agree, it's all well and good having bug reporting options and public betas but no real-time bug tracker means people are no doubt wasting time reporting the exact same bugs, plus there's no way of knowing whether or not your bugs are even being considered. A way to upload system crash reports seems essential IMO but the current bug reporting system doesn't allow this, nor will it accept submissions if you try to paste the crash report into the form.

I bet no-one has got one reply back. They should have a forum for suggestions and bug reports.
The whole system feels very unorganized in a way. You can submit reports and suggestions, but you have no way of knowing how they feel about them.
And no way to know if anything else will be worked on or whether the actual release version means a "fully finished" product for Akai and soon it's time to move on to something new.

I'm kind of excited and not at the same time about Akai 2018. One really cannot know if they're going to improve the products from here, and if yes, how long will it take.
A lot of stuff to implement before you can call X/Live great and consider them worth the premium price.
Would love to see it happen but highly doubt it.

My plan was to get my feet wet on the Live and eventually upgrade to the X, not likely at the moment.
Still enjoy the Live, don't get me wrong, but doesn't feel complete.

When We work on a beat We just want things to function but I've been having an issue that been killing the mood when I'm working on a beat, maybe I'm doing something wrong. So I have an M-Audio Code 49 USB controller keyboard that I've used connected to my computer via USB while the MPC X is in controller mode with 2.0 open. Now I've gotten this keyboard to work before and sometimes it don't work. I've gone into preferences / Midi and made sure Code 49 is checked off , I've rebooted the keyboard the laptop the MPC X but last night I just couldn't get the damn keyboard to play the sound?

I've got it to work before a few times, and never made any changes so last night all I wanted to do was play a melody and the keyboard just won't play a sound

Code 49 is checked off in preferences got a new track armed on the MPC load an instrument in 2.0 but when I play the keys I get nothing

frustrating after 30 mins of rebooting everything and trying again and again I just shut everything down

Anyone else use a USB controller keyboard connected to the computer when they use 2.0?

I'll look at it again tonight I just don't know why it's worked a few times before but last night and a previous time I've got no reaction from the keyboard. ive also deleted the keyboard on the laptop plugged it back in and let it reinstall.

Hopefully it's something I'm missing and not an issue with MPC / 2.0 connections via USB controllers

No. They've been asked to join and told about this forum numerous times, but they don't give a sh*t. Which is a damn shame.

At the risk of starting something, would you want to be an Akai rep in these pages? I wouldn’t. Even when they do something right, they get ripped apart. I’d be surprised if they didn’t ghost these pages, but are in no way gonna get involved, for both personal and professional reasons.

And no, I’m neither a fan boy nor an employee, tho I do like my Live for what I do with it.
