So the screen has frozen mid project and the off button doesnt do anything. How do i switch this thing off so i can restart it?

You gonna have to open it and remove the battery. Only thing I can think of since this exactly happened to my old laptop. But you might wanna check your warranty status before doing that, might be best to send it back.

Usually holding the power button down for about 10/15 seconds resets the machine.

This same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I kept pressing and holding the Power button and it finally shut down. I would def NOT open up the Live as it could void the warranty.
I'm curious as to what you were last doing right before it crashed? I was in a pretty large project and was in the pad mixer using the insert effects on a pad. It was the Distortion Amp I believe. Was it the same for you?
My files also corrupted once I got everything back online. I lost all my samples, sequences stayed there and everything else was intact. It was a bummer..
