High Sierra is working fine here and seemed to be ok before it was officially patched.

I didn’t have a lot of choice. The software didn’t work at all under Mavericks, plus Apple decided to hold all my data hostage when I ‘upgraded’ to an iPhone X by requiring a version of iTunes that wasn't compatible with what I was running. Hence the reluctant move to High Sierra.
