Hi All,

I have just built a new P.C and setup all the software ive bought an Universal Audio Apollo Twin which is setup and working. However when I put the mpc x into controller mode it just says its looking for computer. weirdly the internal ssd I installed is accessible. connected via usb to p.c firmware on the unit is 2.0.7 and the software on p.c is 2.0.8 any ideas what might be happening?

How did you install the 2.0 software? Sounds like the same old problem. DRIVERS OF THE X!

You gotta install the Mpcx software not just the 2.0 software when that window comes up to install the certain driver setup to their perspective places.

Danoc ofcourse my friend you where right!

my only query is why it doesn't go ahead and do them both as part of the installation especially as you select the machine when first open the setup/installer surely it could see if the driver is already installed or not and if not install it, simple.......anyway main thing is its all going now I'm excited to get some work done!

Danoc one quick question , ive now setup things to work in controller mode do I need to install all of the essential sound librarys from the akai site onto the pc now? seems a bit of a waste of space considering it is all on the mpc x currently or am I missing something?

you dont need to install anything.

just the driver and daw as it seems you have done.

also its not "weird" that the computer saw the ssd on the mpc. that's normal and expected.

if anything that confirms the pc is seeing the mpc.

Thanks, what I meant was that I found it weird that it had seen the internal ssd but not seen the MPC x that the ssd was inside.

ok so I do not need those essential libraries why are they there out of curiosity (if they are hard written into the MPC X internal drive?

the mpc live/x does not have to be connected to the software to see the USER installed hard drive/ssd. i dont use the daw software AT ALL--when I need to add something to the SSD i installed, i just plug up the mpc to the computer and drag/drop files. the only time I will open up the daw is to update the daw software.

akai/inmusic supply users with lots of files and software for htr daw. if you go to your account on akai pro you will see all of this. i think its cool they give this stuff to users of the instrument.

They are there in case you lose your content. We are talking about the "Vault" content here. Its already on your MPCx.

The Air content is not there andbthis pertains to your software. You can get Loom, Xpand 2, Hybrid, Vacuum etc and Air effects FREE! Down load those for your computer only. Be it desk top PC or laptop.
