MPC setup

if i bought a mpc 2000xl and it comes with whatever storage type
can i just remove let's say the floppy disk
and put my my Iomega Zip 750 MB USB 2.0 External Drive?
without any need to do anything ?
like SCSI or that?

when can take out the drive from the mpc and connect it to the pc

no, you cant do that.
closest you can get is a card reader where you take the flash out the mpc and put it in the computer.

but you have to use fat16 filesystem, a lot of new computers won't give you this option.

if using a computer is really that important, consider a mpc1000 or 2500, or even newer.

why do you want the 2k/xl at all?

personally found the best solution is having a drive that has slots. TOP CARD: larger 4gb and use MPC format with max partitions, store your actual work here. BOTTOM CARD: smaller 128mb card, format on PC or MPC just for if you need to transfer things back and forth from PC

now if i upgrade my mpc to a MCD HOT SWAPPABLE
i can put my 4gb cf into the mpc and make it my library
and never remove it from the mpc

and another sd card to copy samples from the pc to cf card?
i mean can the mpc read and copy files from the sd to cf and not having a problem?
