I used to. And I have way more hardware that's seen in my studio pic.
But these days, I mostly just admire people who get music done. Gear…they're really just tools.
But different tools can be enjoyed for sure.
I used to lust for gear so damn hard. It's only been in the past year or two that I've mostly got rid of the lust.
I guess it's because I've seen and tried it all.
Now I only care about ppl's musical results, and am not impressed by loads of gear anymore.

Yes sir! My lust stopped in 2012, and an awakening plus concentrating on my music.
But loving hw gear looks and works will never go away. Hardware that is.

I had my gear lust under control for years, until the X came out.
For me it's overkill but stopped caring after the 5000. I couldn't care less about the controllers but I always told myself I would by a new standalone if they ever came out with it. Now I have a X.

I feel you. When I got rid of the 2000XL, I wanted a standalone MPC with new technology of today's time, where it could export and bounce, still have that tight sequencer etc. But Akai did more than what I asked for, flattening pads, etc, plus I said I was NOT going to use the software. Man I lied! LOL I freaking love that software, I saw the Air Instruments and Air Effects and they were free I was like "Ummmm Ummmm Ima use that software" LOL My MPC Live I am loving it. That new update is dope but I saw a vid saying the 2.1 is coming in a few weeks, so I am stoked!

This is where I do all my mixing and mastering work and most of my music stuff too.
Yeah, still got the Live. Can't beat the workflow of that muhfuggin thing for quick sample-based hiphop sh*t.
Sometimes I got Push 2 on its place there.

WELL MY update knocked off my doing the MPC live to Reason, they need to get the synch up to par with that, and other companies with the midi, in my instance with Reason 10 though it's a dope arse combo! I need that in my life!

Cockdiesel wrote:I haven’t tried the Ableton link yet, but you’d think that it would make it real dope for syncing up stuff to track out.

I love Live 10. Been loving it a while: I've been in the beta team since day one…we started maybe 2 years ago, when Live 10 was literally just a few lines on the screen. Happy to see it finally come out!
Ableton for life.

You lucky son-ova lol and yes Ableton gang or don't bang!!!
@Cockdiesel if you have Ableton give link a go, it locks the MPC Live/X in perfectly and then you can just compose in ableton like usual or go back in forth with out having to commit anything to audio until your ready!!

Looks like my stu will be completed soon. Now that l found the model midi keyboard with the horizontal pitch bend.
Roland A-33 or 30. The 33 is 76 keys which l don't need but l love the hammer act look of the keys and that's really good for playing. Can get one for like $164 which ain't bad.
Anyone seen a 61 key in the same range?

I may order the 33 tomorrow

I'm already gettin a discount lol it's less than $200 dollars. Ill l just found one in mint condition for $127 Roland A30. Full keys not weighted and that's right up my alley. Only thing l didn't like is 76 keys. But my desk can hold that and that's what lma get it. But l think l like the A33. So lma look at others to see if others are in mint condition.
