Posted this in my other clips mode thread but I filled it with posts while I was still figuring it out.

SO... go to the sample editor
set your sample to loop
tap the assign pad
choose assign slice to pad
pick a pad in your clip program
press do it
Done :smoker:

the slice becomes a clip and once triggered will continue to play when switching tracks.
the only sticking point is that when you switch back to the track with the clip program none of the active pads are flashing. If you tap a pad with a playing clip it will retrigger. You will have to tap it a second time to get it to stop. One cool thing though is that if you have a sequence playing and some clips going if you press stop the clips keep playing until you hit stop a second time.

Nothing wrong with doing it that way at all. Its an option that works for me. Clip launches recorded to a track will obvioulsy trigger every time time I start the sequencer. I don't want all my clips to behave that way, in particular when I'm just getting ideas together.

I admit Im possibly more excited by this little hack than I should be
