Filter automation in program edit

Hi,
this is my first post, but i was a silent reader on this forum for quite some time.
I bought the mpc live as soon as it came out and I am really quite happy with the device, except one thing which I cannot get working:

when i try to automate the filter frequecies in program edit it does not record the automation. I tried all settings in the "read" "write" box, I have hit record and so on...
How can i record the automation in program edit?

You don't need to hit record. Just set it to write and hit play.. All of your changes in the program should be recorded.. But why are you trying to change the filter type?? I'm not sure if that's possible with automation. But you can automate it's parameters..

thank you for your answer.
I have put the arrow in the wrong location, i have meant the filter frequency, sorry for the confusion.

Normally when i put the box to "write" it does record the automation, except on this screen in program edit...?

Hate to wake up an old thread, but I have this same issue- can’t get cutoff change automation to record. I have automation set to write, but something like a filter sweep is not being recorded.

yeah, I opened that thread a long time ago, I think this even might be my first thread and I still do not know how to do that unfortunately..Realky like the filters on program edit..
Another thing which still annoys me is that you can’t automate the pitch shift in program edit on the sample edit screen, same like the filter automation, no automation there as well :(

Weird, I have been able to record filter automation with out any problem. I actually press record as wel before I start maybe that helps?

I've NOT tried this yet, but perhaps you can switch the Q-Links to Program mode (page #292 of the Manual) and once you assign one of 16 knobs to e.g. filter cutoff it will get recorded?

EDIT: no, sorry - when in Program mode it can only access parameters from program's master screen :(

yes, learn a qlink in project mode and filter automation on the whole program is recorded!

yes just saw it with my own eyes right in front of me and doublechecked that the filter is on all pads in program edit :nod:
but, i was not on a keygroup program, but on a normal sliced sample program, though..

Yes, it works. Problem is people are trying at a pad level, try it at a program level.
Everything in a program will be affected (all pads in a program).

One of the first things I did on mpc x was check out all the options in qlinks.
There is also a project level (all programs will be affected).

Great. This is a game changer for me. I'm off sampling VSTs :D
