That’s pretty cool! You know, tho, I don’t know that I’ve ever really listened to the original. I’ll have to go dig it up.

Niceee TD! Since you dug that deep you're now part of the Sample Jedi.
Remind me that I started to recreate this track too a few years ago when there was a thread about it here. I need to finish it but it's really not that easy on this track. The Bomb Squad did such a great job.
But beside work its also fun to listen closely to the original and the sampled records and then arrange that collage. I felt like getting much deeper into the music.
Other tracks often get boring after "recreating" but "welcome to the terrordome" is such a dope tune....with every little sample I thought......"WTF have they done here!"
I guess you've had the same experience while recreating it. Keep on.
peace

Great post. I think some one asked about all the samples on "Terrordome" beat here before.
I'm most certain that Bomb Squad took a lot of sample bites from Simon Harris' Beats, Breaks & Scratches compilation. I think they used volume 2...., I'm not sure which one they used.

Thanks for your kind words chaps, currently working on it more to get in all the 808s, plus horn and guitar samples I left out from James Brown's 'Get Up Into It'. Will post the full remix soon! PEACE

Are you saying they didn't had those records available themselves?

Most of the samples you hear, were used in a lot of Hip Hop records years before, even are from older rap records. And as a matter of fact Simon used PE samples, so I highly doubt they had to use Simons sample recordings to get to their now material. That would have been weird.

It was done well. And Hank Shocklee is one of them most underprivileged producers. The work the has done is timeless.

I guess the guitar and horn parts are not sampled but recorded "live" from vinyl. Anyone can confirm this theory??

Oh and does anyone here know whats goin on (what is the sample) playing in between the "journey into sound" and the "would you join me please" samples. tonal it blends with the Temptations main sample.
