Most of the samples you hear, were used in a lot of Hip Hop records years before, even are from older rap records. And as a matter of fact Simon used PE samples, so I highly doubt they had to use Simons sample recordings to get to their now material. That would have been weird.

I didn't state that they didn't have those records from original. However, I still believe that those sample bits used on the intro are from Simon Harris' Beats, Breaks & Scratches compilation (If I remember correctly, it is Vol.2).
Here's why I think it is the case:
I was a teenager in Japan, when Terrordome 12" came out(!) I was into PE, and I copped the a pair of Terrordome 12" as soon as it became available. I also had Simon Harris breakbeats comps, and I immediately noticed that the Simon Harris record had the same samples, in exactly same order!
I know for the fact that the vol. 1 and vol.2 came out before Terrordome 12".
By the way, Terrordome 12" was THE turntabilst record back then. I used to cut on Terrorbeat.
PE Trivia: The black suits that S1W were wearing in "Fight The Power" video are Japanese high school uniforms (for boys)! They bought it in Japan, during tour in Japan.

Those guitar and horn parts are from James Brown records. How they managed to do it they have kept a secret.

The S1W are FOI uniforms. But admittedly, during the early days of the NOI's development there was a relationship between Japanese-officials and the NOI.

From what I remember, in those times, big groups used to secretly press unreleased instrumentals to vinyl for DJs, in this case; Terminator X, to scratch or create more of an epic track. Beats To the Rhyme by RUN DMC is a well known example of this. Perhaps Terminator X had James Brown records on the turntables as this was recorded. Also Hank was no stranger to the turntables either.

That makes sense. Major labels had access to a lot and privileges.

thats what I ment. They recorded the track and maybe afterwards Hank or Terminator layed down the scratch and GTR/horn parts via turntable.

@chillin: I know that they are from Get up, Get into it get involved the question was if anyone know HOW they've done it. They probably never talked about it and its a "secrect".
But
1. I never had the feeling PE had something to hide about production methods. They talked about production in interviews. For example I remember chuck talked about a tapeloop that they used instead of sample the loop at one point.
2. If 1. is true than maybe someone who read this here have heard about it in an interview that I still don't know and can answer my question.

BTW you seem to know more than some people here. So please answer my question about the sample between "journey" and "would you like to....". With some imagination I can hear something like the word "again" that was scratched and played three times before the sample "would you like....." cuts in.

I guess you also know where the laughing comes from oh and the distorted GTR sample come from (the one right before the beat start and the intro is finished). Wait.....isn't it on Simon Harris Beats and Scratches?????

I know where each of the samples are taken from. What I've been saying is that, I think the Bomb Squad used the Simon Harris record for the production, rather than taking each samples from different records...

The gear worn in Fight The Power is not FOI issued. It is regular black army pants and jacket you can get off 125th. I have a pair of those black army pants and green ones right now. What Griff had on is tailored made jacket for he was the leader of the S1Ws.
Elijah Muhammad actually had ties with Sun Yung Moon of China back in the day. Posters of of them were bills all up and down harlem, and in the NOI's famous restaurant called " Steak-N-Take ". I lived right around the corner from it and was in there basically everyday. Any ties to Japan would be a new one on me. I am very well informed on the NOI beginnings.
