Can any of you mpc x veterans tell me whether you can do vocal punch ins as you would on a more conventional recorder? In other words, if you create a sequence to add some vocal tracks to, can you punch in sections of the vocal on the same vocal audio track, fixing as you go? Thanks in advance!

Yes

It can be done. Its in the manual. You simply set in and out points in the TC screen. You can have it do a “run through” once then record on the second pass or the conventional auto punch in. Just set in and out points.

This works for any analog audio track, not just vocals.

Awesome...manual’s not we’ll indexed...stuff’s hard to find, at least for me! Can you tell me whether all time signatures can be specified, and whether you can change time signatures within a song? Thanks again for the response!
