And yes, the MV V3 will have pattern mode, although it's not really needed because you can emulate pattern mode with quickset loops and locators but they want to make the MPC jump ship so they need to add it.
There are a couple things I miss about the MPC, but the MV strengths far outweigh them.

Scroll down a litle and you can see the MV-8000 v3 will indeed have pattern mode. I'll never use it..Pattern mode is intergrated into the linear mode, it's just easier once you're done with your patterns to jump out of loop set...Trust me as a long time MPC user...Since the 60, the MV is the shiz.

1) What kind of Program Modulation matrix does the MV have. I know that
none of the earlier MPC's had this, but this is one the most USED features
by me, to make my Samples more realistic and expressive. I personally
couldn't use one of the earlier MPC's as they don't have this.
2) How many LFO's?
3) How many Envelopes? (Are any of them Multi Stage envelopes)
4) How many Filter types?
5) How Many Zones
6) What can modulate the above said Zones.
Thanks,
Dave

I was going to blabber on about how found I'm of the step sequencer and how big & amazing 24/96k sounds... but dam I don't even wanna compare them anymore...
...man I hope their free penis pump comes with some viagra aswell, they'll need it...

The mv8000 has much better effects, but it's filters suck big time, the pads are too stiff, there's too many buttons to push to get to different screens, but I do like alot of it's features.
* The main reason that I would not buy a MV8000 is not because of the machine itself, but because of how roland abandon their machines. What I'm talking about is the variphrase 9000, the varios, the mmp-2 preamp, ect., they will have wonderful concepts for the machines but if they don't sell fast enough, then you're left with a machine that doesn't hold it's value and that they will not give proper tech support for. Honestly the only thing that I would feel good buying from roland is a digital recorder or a keyboard.
peace.

STILL, you seem to have made your choice so I hope things work the way you want them to, I know my **** sounds tight...
