Hi, I have been producing on an MC-303 for a little while now but just got an MPC 2000XL to expand my horizons. I can get the 303 to sync to my 2KL but I can't compose on the 2KL using the 303 sounds. It worked once but when I switched off the 2KL the 303 went back to the default sound. Does anyone know how to select MC-303 sounds using the 2KL (plus a midi keyboard) and keep them stored? Cheers

move the cursor to the bottom of the screen where it says dum turn it to midi 1a then move the cursor over to the program number and then select the number you want then program your stuff.......do this for all of your selections.......If you have a keyboard hooked up as well one of these will be on the "B" channel yopu follow the same rules after you finish save your sequences on the mpc......when you turn it of and then turn it back on, load up your sequences and everything will go back to how it was.........

No offense but you need to revisit your user manual.......this is very basic info homie

Much respect

Sorry man but I couldn't find this anywhere in the manual that I can see. The only problem with using this method is that it skips large amounts of the available sounds. I have just started doing the same with a roland jv-1010 super synth and that has over 1000 sounds. The prog numbers only go up to 100 and something. Is this where bulk dump comes into play? Is that where the synth tells the sequencer exactly which sounds to use? It is making me very tense not being able to get the right sounds.

are you using the 303 as a multi timbral sound mod? if not do it like this.
Hold down play mode the turn on 303, now you have a 16 voice module but you cant use your 303 effects now. its how i use my 303

Thanks. I don't really think I am going to use my 303 much anymore apart from to add little extras and to sample from. The midi implementation is a joke really and now I have a yamaha and a roland rack unit which I think I will use primarily. Cheers anyway.
