Maschine vs Mpc

Hey I’ve been watching rhythm roulette and seeing that havoc and 9th wonder and lots of others are using maschine. I’m going to either get a MPC Live or a maschine mk3 I was set on the MPC Live but seeing all of them using maschine I feel like I’m missing something does anyone know why they’re using maschine and not mpc thanks.

The MK 3 is nice but don’t forget it’s tethered to a PC. The GUI is nice, the browser is also fantastic. Compare the actual features though, Both Maschine and the Live are missing some features.

Havoc has also released a official maschine expansion called queensbridge story, I use it on a lot of tracks.

I know these legends uses Maschine but I would choose Live just because its standalone function.
I really don't want pack a full of samples into my pc and connect it with Maschine every time when I want to make beats.

Maschine was first, so many older producers were early adopters of the controller/computer combo--I too was one of these early adopters. But! I would say that either the MPC or Maschine is fine. I have both and prefer the MPC software and controllers. I actually stopped using my Maschine altogether.

l'm a MPC head l could never rock Maschine or any other drum machine. I love the new functions of the MPC live. Love it works on a battery and l can take it any where to jot down ideas. I don't wanna cut on the entire computer just to get my beat on.

I came across a phrase once or twice. There is no dumb questions, only dumb answers. LOL, please don't take this the wrong way. But, do you seriously think coming to a Mpc-forum will give you a balance of post favoring Maschine? Did you post this same question at the native instruments forum? There are died hard Mpc users here. Who live and breathe Mpc.

I'm on my maschine studio 90% of the time and I own a Ren,Touch and a X. I'll be a fool to post about maschine is better here. LOL, Just kidding. I prefer maschine workflow, but I love the forum.

So I've come from an MPC 2500, went to Maschine, bought MK1 & Maschine Studio, & also Maschine Mikro MK2.
I use them all for multiple reasons, because they suit my needs in my home studio.
I've been the proud owner of all for many years, yet NI hasn't brought out a standalone...
So I pulled the trigger on the MPC Live last May, & have never looked back.
ALL my gear is still in use, the Mikro launches clips & effects in Traktor, my 25K still gets love & my Studio & Live 9 is a beast!!
BUT Maschine is still tethered to the pc.
The Live goes where I go. It lives in my work bag, & I fire it up on my break, working on beats, bass, keys etc.
That's the reason I bought MPC Live.
The day Maschine goes standalone & compact, I may re-think.

Sums it up for me :) I am an old school MPC junkie tried Maschine Studio and K Series with Komplete not for me but the kits are on point

I went from 2000 to the 2000XL , LPD8 and now Live. The sequencer is the sweetest on the MPCs. Akai did some justice on the effects cause the 2000XL effects were garbage!

I think Maschine & MPC's have similar workflows.......I have the 2500, 500 & recently got Maschine Mk3. Never thought I would use a controller to make beats, I work on a computer so last thing I want to do in my free time is play on a computer. But the only time I use my mouse is when I open Maschine software & close it. So the Mk3 feels standalone. Plus it's got a lot of nice tricks up it's sleeve (so does the Live tho).

I think both are great options, just depends on what you're looking for. Personally I would get both, but I like to bounce around :)

I was primarily a Maschine user. I have owned each controller at some point in time, as well. The Maschine workflow is easy once you understand the relationship between sounds, groups, patterns, etc.

I picked up a MPC Live and I am learning the operating system now. The touch screen is crazy responsive and the menu system is fantastic. I see myself learning it fairly quickly and using it as my primary production tool.

I say get the Live and find a cheap Maschine with software to accompany it. I just got a used Maschine MK2 with software for $130 yesterday. I am using it to finish projects and keep in case I decide to switch back and forth. They are crazy cheap if you dig around!

Yeah I use Maschine as sound module with the Touch/Studio software. Using it that way I can have the maschine kits still routed with the fx.

With the Live I converted all the NI kits to akai expansions and put it in on the internal HDD.
