MPC2500 vs Live

I support a person who works with what they want l have no problem with that at all.
Hold on instead of quickly telling me what you work with you want me to search.? Not happening. With all you wrote you could of said it. You're right its not my style if it aint the MPC but you could of shared.

Bugs in the Live, hmmm some and some not. Mines don't and never did. I had one problem and that was do to MY fault.

Im ITB totally and love it and use DAWs + plus the MPC Live. That's all the hardware l have.

It’s great your happy with Live, but some people wanna roll with what they know or feel is stable and gives them the tool they need to get their tracks out.

What l love about the Live when saving l get to name my sounds and have that nice big scteen of a keyboard. Oh that's so nice and fast.

Cool. Enjoy your Live. It’s a Synthstrom Audible Deluge for portable work. I listed all the features in those posts so others wouldn’t have to look it up on the Synthstrom site or ask me what it does...

It may be perfect for you but I see the real number of bug reports and unfinished features just by reading the forums here since about a week before you came on interested in the X (same as I was interested in the X)

Oh don’t worry - I still got two big ass slow mv8800’s and if I want to tote them 80’s style like the biggest boom box you can carry on your shoulder, I’ll make em fit the word portable..

Yeah man pretty interesting the past 2 days I was thinking more about the Live but it‘s a head to head race for me. Some days I think more that it‘s gonna be the 2500 definitly and then I‘m over on the Live-side of things again... dang...
Is there any master effect chain for the live that makes it sound more authentic oldschool? I think all that comes from the 16bit 44.1hz thing...
yeah touchscreen is cool for some but I would prefer a MPC without one and with some crisp displays like the NI MK3 has

If you don't want touch screen then you said it all right there. Don't get the Live.

That touch screen is dope though. I would not go back to non touch screens. Thats whetebthe beauty is. The touch screen is crisp. Its sweet.

You can always sample 12 bit drums and apply compression, apply and tweak the decimator effect, then apply high pass or low pass filters and tweak them. The LIVE is transparent, which means what ever sound you sample into it, will not be colored by the machine.

EQ's, Filters, Compression, Sound Layering, and Pitch Shifting are your friends.

On the Live you can use the SP12 Ring emulation and that baby works, and put LPF on it to give it more grit of that old sound. On Each or any sound you want, you can put this on the sound. Then to make it sweet through some record popping in it like my track below, "Boom Bap" joint. That vinyl sound. You will be good to go!

Did a couple of joints yesterday and more coming, but this was fun. I even did a joint with ONLY stock sounds from the MPC Live. I didn't mix it what you hear is the raw track.

I never heard the OP say he wanted the 500. Yeah its smaller but you can't compare it to the Live on any scale!
At some point you dump your music into a DAW am l correct? So how are you dumping your tracks?
You get to put a HHD in the 2500 but IDE? That's old ribbon technology once that ribbon goes you gotta replace the HHD. The live takes Sata connection and SSD (no movable parts) drive.
It's cool if you wanna stay in the archaic world but don't make it seem like the Live can't handle its business. Its a power house with new technology in it.

I understand OP is NOT discussing the 500. I mentioned I could sell my 2500 AND my 500, get the Live & have money left over. I gave examples as to why I don't. The OP has made a few threads about this, so I explained WHAT is important to ME, to hopefully help him think about WHAT is important to HIM. I even flat out said if I used a computer I would get the Live (I DO NOT USE A COMPUTER FOR MUSIC, so to answer your question I DO NOT TRACK OUT TO A DAW).

Of course the Live is more portable than the 2500, I was talking about the 500. No power cord needed for the 500. It's smaller, lighter, cheaper. To me that equals more portable. Totally fine if the Live is more portable for you. That's awesome.

I do not use a DAW for MANY reasons. The most important reason being I sit in front of a computer for work, so the last thing I want to do when I get home is....sit in front of a computer. I understand using software makes things easier & I COMPLETELY understand why people love it. I didn't even use a sequencer for the first year I made beats & I didn't look at waveforms when I chopped (now I do sometimes). Why? Because I wanted to get good at playin the pads. I wanted to be able to HEAR things better & use my ears more. What is most important to me? Gaining skill, knowledge & enjoying myself. I am completely fascinated with music production. I've taken 3 days off in 3 years. I spend at least 40 hours a week in my studio & I have a full time job. It has consumed me in the most beautiful way & I actually believe it saved my life (that's a whole nother story).

I do not have an issue with the Live. I LOVE MPC's period.

Yo thanks. I just wanted to show case how well the live was. I love it l am so happy using it. Rolling hihats is easy .
