make the Live sound like the XL

Yo,

Did someone here already try to get some FX on the master channle of the Live to make it sound like the XL? Yknow, poppin drums, warmth, grittyness... Or is the XL sound just too original to recreate it? If that would be da case I might actually get a XL lmao

also is it only me or does everything coming from the Live for whatever reason sound more stereo? Does that even make sense? am I trippin?

2000XL sound is not that different from the LIVE or X. I have them and it all depends on your sample source. You want that Grit, Warmth, Punch, you need to tweak the filters, add compression, layer the sounds, and sample the best source.

the 2000XL sound is so glorified. not that it doesnt sound good or anything, but i bet it's simpler, than some imagine, to recreate it. especially with a tool like the live..

The cool thing about the 2000xl, if you get the Digital card with it. You can use external mixers, compressor, and pre amp if they have digital outs.

Hell you can get grittier with the Live/X cause you can take the bit rate low and throw some LPF on it with some neddle poppin!

to get the live to sound closer to the 2500 i add lowpass filter on the master at about 10k, this makes my programs i load from the 2500 sound much more like they are supposed to, a high pass filter before it set almost as low as possible also helps getting the kicks to sit in the right place, not perfect but close

Also you could check out RX950 plugin.

Best way to make the Live sound like a 2kXL is having someone raise a mallet over your head and have that person say "You betta make that Live sound like an XL or I'm gonna splatter your **** brains all over it!!" Have him spit in your face and get kicked in the back. Make sure he has a helper strapping a belt around your neck and choking the shit out of you. You'll have 2kXL perfection in no time.

For real though I wouldn't want the Live to sound like any other MPC, I would make my own sound and keep it pushin!
