Writing Entire Song On One Sequence

Are you gettinh a keyboard with sounds or judt a regular midi keyboard?

Yeas, I would like all of the instruments on separate tracks for pricice control of panning, fx, compression, etc. Is that what exploding is?

Come to think if it, if it's in one long sequence, can't I just delete parts that I don't need during the sequence instead of muting them?

What up Danny,

You can control the panning and fx in Program. There you can control how each pad will sound off.

Exactly like Danoc said, Exploding tracks is when you create a single sequence on a single track. Then afterward, Explode will place every part in its own track automatically. Helps turn ideas quickly into full blown tracks instantly.

I was also thinking that you can create a single 4 bar measure sequence at full throttle, copy as many sequences you need, delete the parts, then chain them up to be recorded into a single sequence.

No, just a keyboard Midi Controller to trigger the sounds on the live. Hopefully they have built in keys and synth sounds I can play leads with.

Yes there are a lot of sounds you can play from the Live's Vault. You just put it on the piano roll tab and get busy.

Do you plan on using the software?

Be aware that Live can’t be played multi-timbrally for now which means you have to switch to the corresponding track to play it..

It doesn't seem to be a problem as long as I can create multiple keyboard tracks.

You can create a single 4 measure like this:

Trk1-kick

Trk2-snare

Trk3-hihats

Trk4-bass

Trk5-Rhodes

Trk6-etc...

Make about 7 copies of it, then for each copy, just delete the parts needed for the build up. Arrange each copy sequence in Song Mode in anyway you like in the same fashion you posted earlier. Then convert it to a single sequence, and you will be able to utilize the audio tracks to lay over other elements on top of the backing beat more freely.

So for the first copy just delete all the tracks except trk1. Second copy, delete all except trk 1 and 2. Third, trk1,2 and 3 remain. And so on until each copy is altered to your desired effect.

There are many ways to create a single sequence, Live is pretty versatile.
