? about synth's

hey when you guys speak of synth; do you record the synth sound to your mpc.

or do you keep it midi'd up to your mpc when you record your track to your recorder.

i don't use any computer software to record or to edit my sounds, it's all done between the mpc and my effects modules then when i'm ready to record, i record to my hd recorder,

i'm just trying to figure out how i can do this , cause i dont save the midi channels on my other equipment.

any help is appreicated

I stay by midi as long as possible.
This way I´m more flexible. I can change stuff until end.

Allso the MPC hasn´t got that much memory, so sampling everything wont work for me. Sometimes I sample a bassline or so in my EMU, if I want that special sound...

I´ve allso got a mfc and it is cool for jamming and gigs if I can sample some basic synth waveforms for mono basslines and run these through the mono and the drums through the stereo channel...

So sampling basslines is OK, but I don´t sample normal synth stuff...

what do u mean? You can save controller data on your mpc! So you can load patch A in your synth as soon as you hit play on your mpc, then lets say on bar 8 you change to patch B and controll the cutoff of your synth´s filter with the mpc. you even can controll your external FX over midi...

or have I missunderstood your question?

And one more thing; if you have an HD recorder I would rather record your synthstuff into this as in your MPC.

what i meant by this question is that when i use the midi device like my ef303 i can save the step modulator patcthes to run with the song it's meant to be ran with.

i'm not that informed on the midi stuff, this is just alittle bit that i have learned on my own, shoot if i can learn to do that i could make some thight sh!t.
