Best Way Render Song to DAW Without Software

Hey Guys,

2 questions actually.

Can I explode pads to individually tracks in standalone mode so I can use the Live as a mini mixer to control all of the mix?

What is the best way to send my song to my DAW without MPC software? Do I just play the Live and use a stereo line out?

Yep, you can create a beat on a single track then access the Explode feature to put all the sounds on different tracks. If 4 pads created the beat, then thats 4 tracks it'll create. Capeesh

When you explode the tracks, you can select a saving locations. If you have an USB key or SD Card in the machine. Create a folder on the card and exploded stems to that usb key/sdcard. From there you can just transfer to your desktop from the usb key or sdcard.

So they will all be Wav. files that I can drag and drop onto my DAW, Just as if someone sent me files from another DAW?

Yes sir l do it all the time. I drag and drop into Reason 10.

There are 2 explodes.
1. Is to separate sounds to individual tracks.
2. Is to help rendef separate wav files to a thumb stick or whatever.

Damn. You guys made up my mind. I'm picking up the MPC. Getting tired of dragging samples into my DAW.

BTW Danoc, I love mixing on Reason's SSL console. It's been a while . I use Studio One for my TV music.

Forgot to mention the Live has 6 outs and the X has 8 outs, fyi.

I have Studio One 3.5.6 about to get 4 which is totally ridiculous! Its not even fair! Oh if you're doing tv cuues with it that's dope.
Yeeeeeesssss sir! Reason 10.1 SSL 9000k mixer is the truth. The algorithm sound comming from it is so close to the real thing. I mix on it but master in S1. Now that it takes Vsts its just over!

MPC live is so sweet. I use it for drums but starting to hit melodies out on it too. It explodes just like Reason. You hit on say in redrum and you did drums in it. Hit F8 tap on explode and it separate the midi tracks to their own lane. Then you can bounce to track and turn the midi into a wav audio track. You know how dope it is.

I use the Live and have all three work together. Killer combination.

They can be WAV, AIFF. or MP3. The strange thing is in standalone the X/Live can save at 32 bit and 96Khz audio files, but the machine does not import 32/96, 24/96, 24/88.1, or 24/48 files in standalone.

So the high bit-rate sample export is just up converting. Would be nice if it recorded at that sample rate natively.

Akai probably figures you can import 24/44.1 since its the industry's standard where even mix engineers want the exported files and saw no need to go any higher on importing.

Hey Twin ,

I think I'm up to ver 3.5 something on Studio One. I will get around to upgrading but I see no need to at this point. I compose mix and master one S1. I am also a huge fan of Slate plugins. I master with the FGX.

I would say I am an all around type of composer with Epic Orchestra and Cinematic Tension cues being my strong point. If you want a sick VSTI for working HipHop in any DAW, I strongly recommend Heavyocity DM-307. Some real massive beats and samples on there although I always write my own Kit rhythms.

I can't wait to get the Live. You guys are a great bunch that are so helpful.

S1 is a beast. Ihave some Heavyocity stuff. I love Spitfire Orchestral stuff plus l have all the Eastweast. Joints.

Not if you're doing Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD, Dolby Atmos. My studio is setup at 24/96 as the standard. I do wish I could sample in stand alone at 24/96 and import 24/96 samples into the device.
