s/pdif on MPC

Is anyone sampling from CDs (versus vinyl) through BOTH analog AND digital inputs (spdif)...how does this sound?
Is noise still a problem at all using s/pdif?

I'm investing in 8 out + spdif board for MPC(not XL) to eliminate noise problem by going digital, is difference very noticeable?....any opinions?

Noisy analog inputs just indicate a problem. Could be number of things. I'd suggest getting down to figure out what the issue is with the noise. There may be times where you will have to sample analog.

I sample through both and really don't notice that much of a difference. I keep a clean, noise-free system though. Sometimes I prefer the analog inputs since the digital output of some gear is `fixed` at a particular level and I cannot get as hot a signal as the analog (this is really particular to the certain peices of gear I have and not that common).

I thought that it might be something else too, 3000, but I have:

1. Changed samples I was using in case they were noisy.

2. Unplugged all connection, cleaned them and ran power cords away from audio cords.

3. Changed signal path from MPC--->mixer--->audio interface to straight MPC---> audio interface (Delta 66)....so that seems pretty straight forward, it should be cleanest path, right?

I use a Rane DJ mixer for sampling vinyl, which is where I hear most of noise. I mean if I turn the rec gain on mpc almost all the way up and also turn gains and volumes on mixer up I am picking up ALOT of noise WITHOUT the needle even touching the record.

Tracks are starting to come out tight, but noise is holding production quality back.

Any other thoughts?
