I have a free trial of Noiize online sample cloud. I have been dragging some nice one shots into Impact from there.

When l get S1v4 lma use lmpact to sound design some of my drums. I will make some drum patterns in it. But l concentrate on making a lot of my patterns in the MPC live. I can do things in it also.

I'm just about ready to click "Buy" on this baby.

Just making sure:

1- I can write one long sequence as an entire song, adding or removing parts along the way, or write a song with multiple sequences.

2- I can export every single sound (Pad), to a 24 bit wav, on a thumb drive and drag the stems into Studio One for a full mixdown with VST's. ( I want to bypass Akai software entirely).

3- Use my external MIDI controller to play leads or chords from the internal sounds.

1. Yes! You can make one long sequence, just set the bars very long, then when you finish and if you have extra bars, just dail it back down near to where your Cue/Song ends. Yes, you can use different sequences also to set up a song then use song mode to set it up. Mute out sounds you want from the pads and you're good to go.

2. Yes, you can export every single sound from a pad in 24 bit, and put it on a thumb drive, and drag and drop it into S1 for a full entire mixdown as stems. You can use all the VSTs you have installed in S1.
First you need to explode the tracks on the MPC Live, this will separate each sound to its individual track, just as Reason does. Then you export and use "Explode" function and it will give you STEMS!

3. Yep, you can use a midi controller to play the sounds in "The Vault" you can do melodies, chords, counter melodies, drum patterns or whatever!

You're good to go!

You jumped out the window bro? LOL You're going to love that machine and when you start playing with it, you're going to figure out new things it does, and you're going to be happy. I be killing the drums on that baby and I will start making melodies on it cause it's so easy. Ima set up some thangs on that baby LOL Ima be killing it. with the addition of S1v4 and using Reason also it's going to be bananas! When I get a chance I will do a mix strictly with the MPC Live but I will have to do it with the software but it will be in controller mode.

When you get it go to my thread and show it in your studio!

I want to get myself a Live but i'm concerned about audio files recording, on standalone mode.

I
Are you experiencing any memory problems when the songs get very long, and files are larger ?
I'm reading ppl complain they can't record audio files longer than 5mins.

Are you able to connect more than one controller and load in more than 1 sound simultaneously ?
Say... a couple of midi keyboards.. with different sounds..

Im not experiencing any problems or memory with song loss.

You have 2 usb ports so l assume you can connect 2 midi keyboards. Plus you have midi in and outs.

No its not multi timbral.
But you can stack sounds

Hey Brother,

I have my 3rd day with the MPC Live. I am digging the sounds but I'm a little slow with the learning curve.

One thing that is bothering me is I have sort of a crash sometimes. When I am working on a sequence, sometimes a long note just sustains out forever and I have to boot down the unit. One time I lost all of my work. Has this happened to others?

Another thing. Although I love the built in instruments in the vault, I don't know if I can modify a stock sound. IOW. I know I can add effects to an instrument but if an instrument comes stock with too much delay for my project, can I actually lessen the effects on built in instruments?

You shouldn't be going through that. Im not and never had except for that one time where the sensitivity was way low and l turned it back to 8-normal.

As you play with it more and more it will be natural to you. I work really fast on it cause lm on it everyday.

Stock sounds should be dry like the bass or synths etc. Stock one shots like drums you probably hear effects. Maybe you can't edit them.

Did you install everything correctly? Right drivers? Are you on 2.2.1?
