Hey, folks,

I just got my MPC live... I was able to register it on the AKAI site with no problems, and I installed the MPC software, as well as the Windows drivers. Everything seems to be working fine, but when I go to the info screen in Preferences, it says INVALID SERIAL NUMBER. The software is 2.2.1, and the firmware is also the most current. What could this be?

I did get a demo model from Sweetwater Sound, but I don't think that would make a difference, as I also saw the invalid serial message before I registered it. Is there something in the software that I need to do?

ANy help? Thanks.,

It's bad enough, purchasing software with good money and have to jump thru hoops to use it. Now the same foolishness has moved to hardware. Who would have thought?

I had that problem. I had to send mine in under warranty. How long does it take to startup? Change some preferences and see do they save when you restart. If the preferences don’t save and it takes while to start up you need to send it back and get another one.

I've had this same problem since the first firmware update. I haven't noticed it affecting anything, although it is annoying.

I made posts on akai forums and didn't get any help. Hasnt bothered me enough to call them though.

Akai tech support had no clue how to fix it.

3 separate calls.

I don’t think That it’s a technical issue on the consumers part, it seems to be a glitch with Mac OSX Mojave.

In my case, the Akai Live gold functions perfectly, saves data, works in controller mode no problem, but Akai is so paranoid with its inane ilok B.S. that has me wondering if they will honor my upgrade path, and if an internal drive will recognize the unit.

One shouldn’t have to go through this just for a piece of effing hardware...:/

Frustrated, K
