Are A Majority Of MPC Users Responsible For Crashes?

After having used or owned every MPC from the 60 and up. My personal feeling is that the MPC LIve and X are, controllers first and standalone hardware second. The device has the most power and capability when running as a controller, paired to software.

This is the reason the once rock solid sequencer and swing is no longer the main feature. I.E 3000 and 4000.
Now with that said, if Akai could figure out away to run a TRUE Hybrid mode, without having to switch back and forth from Standalone to Controller. That would be nice.

I enjoy the machines, but they are under-powered and its very easy to max out the capabilities of the device. I found myself freezing and crashing the machine many times, because I was just doing to much. Not the machine's fault, but my own. But then again high powered desktop computers have spoiled me and I forget I was working on 5+ year old mobile/tablet SOC.

So just like Tutor, I stayed in controller mode.

That last one, The Repository. The price he offering that at, he may as well be giving it away. I ain’t mad at all though. He definitely puts his time in creating quality work.

Agreed...the software is where the power lies.Mousing around is still the fastest method for me when all is said and done !!!! Access all areas.............

That seems entirely reasonable. As a responsible consumer, I find the best way to avoid any crashes, freezes or other undesired behaviour is to keep my Live securely in its box, lock it away somewhere safe, and never EVER switch it on. Works like a charm.

I keep myself in a box somewhere safely locked away and have had no problems either.

It seems that the Beat Thang fiasco was misunderstood by Akai as great marketing. They used to say that all the time to the suckers who bought one.
