That would be like a dude who splice told you using Protools or any DAW is wack you go ahead and use a simulated process (computer) to edit tape.
When you use your hardware everything ends up in PT or a DAW right? If you're a TRUE HARDWARE guy don't use a DAW just go straight to 2 inch tape and splice![]()
At the end of the day consumers of music don't care what we use as long as the music is hot.dryad-66 wrote:You made my point. Its the person behind the gear.In my case its me and thats where i taking from.If you want to live in a world were everything is simulated go ahead.I came up on tape and splicing and appreciate the nuances and experimentation that come with that process.Thats what it all about to ME.I use plugs too.But if you were to ask me what i prefer id say the real thing.Second best is the emulation.Thats all bro
Well i respect anyone who spliced the tape back in the day. There's still no magic bullet for that.In fact that prccess is so 'real' and full of gritty old school magic i feel sad for a new generation who will probably never have the pleasure. And just go straight to the promised land of simulation.Glad you found a workflow that works as you like.I mix between the two.Im back rockin the MPC 5000 and am having a great time.Got the software on lock too so not stressing.Found a balance.
