:worthy: Dam! Profound!

Secretly looking on this forum? Dam!

I don't wanna chat with Dan, Petter nor Andy. I want results only. They can get on GS but not here? From what cats went through on this forum and abroad Akai is lucky people still like the product.

Like Zang said come where the REAL LOYAL customers are. Hell if Tutor isn't dedicated enough doing THEIR job on the manual l don't know who is.
In my case l'm so loyal when l got rid of the 2000XL l didn't jump to maschine, Beat Thang (laughable), Push etc. I am the epitome of having faith for waiting from 2012 to 2017 for a new machine form Akai.
If that's not loyalty then l don't know what is.

zangetsu01 wrote:If Akai really wanted to be informative they should stop reading this forum in secret and start posting on the boards where their real/loyal customers gather. Right here on this forum!! Did something happen in the past? Or is it because of the jokes we were making in 2016/2017?.

It's 2018 and I still feel a huge distance between us and Akai Pro. So many bugs where submitted during the Beta period and maybe 30% have been resolved. Exporting drumtracks to audio tracks will result in a 16 bit file even tough your project settings are at 24 bit. A lot of vst plugin names are presented wrong on the touch srceen interface and sometimes it just shows 'empty' even tough there is a vst plugin loaded. The GUI wont remember it's position when you switch between modes. So when your viewing the mixer and are making some adjustments to the sub busses and switch to the sampler and after the sampler back to the mixer you'll have to scroll all the way back to the sub busses. The same thing in track mode when your viewing track 26 and leave and come back to track mode you'll have to scroll all the way back down to track 26.

I really feel that they need to restore their bond with the MPC community.

What you said is true the thing is the MPC 5000 was a dam mess. Cats spending the dough they did and that machine was a mess do ya blame them for getting on their ass? Just Blaze got on their ass also so it was Akai's fault. That was hardware not software.

Agreed. I remember Andy used to post in here all the time back in the early days of the 4000 and 5000. He dipped after awhile cause folks were giving him hell and he was really just trying to engage and help. Folks don’t know how to act in here so I can’t say I blame them for not wanting to engage here anymore.

Im using a 5000 as we speak and i cant fault it.It has not glitched once and does everything its intended too as far as i can see.IVery solid box contray to what ive read on the interweb.I know that it was a mess before 2.0.Same with the 4000.So largely software. But there has been a good number of dodgy 5k units around.Having a look on the elektron forum and their having many problems with the mk 2 s atm.Its where the HW meets the SW to a large extent.People are asking for more features lol.

I get that, I was hot about the 4k situation after owning it. I understand the anger over spending money like that believe. Mine cost $2300. Folks got every reason to be hot, how things were handled but that wasn't Andy's fault though feel me? Folks was treating him like it was all on him even disrespecting him. We can't act like we didn't bring it on ourselves though when we chased him out of here. Classic case of not recognizing a good thing that he was actually engaged and was involved with the community here.

Ding ding ding.

I wish tutor can get one of the akai guys in here on a heavily modded thread. Dan answers all questions, even stuff that definitely won’t make it to the Live/x. They say they still read the forums though.

I feel you, but I guess they blamed it on everyone that worked at Akai. But Andy, and Pete etc were acting bugged out when the release of the new MPCs where coming out. it was crazy, I just stop talking to them and be patient.

WTF :WTF: :Sigh:  $2,300? holly s***! All I could say is, couldn't have been me. No way sir!

It's not finished, for example in the OS there's references to keygroup crossfades and another crossfade that clearly are not there, they forgot to implement them but still left in all references to them, how lazy is that? Surely that deserved a quick update to at least remove the references from the OS! V>Att works in the wrong direction. There's all sorts of infuriating stuff in there in terms of workflow, I really don't think they put much effort into this MPC at all. Half hearted job, rushed out and promptly abandoned.

Well they left some stuff out.Dan recently said that the guy working on the OS left and they could not do any more.Maybe some truth in that but i reckon they got fed up with the bad press and sales.Especially after the rant from Blaze.I would have to disagree with a lot of what i hear about it tho.Im using it every day now and ive found no problems (ok give me time but i have owned them before and same) This box is insane if you just get on and use it and abuse it.FX are great, filters gritty and severe,EQ and compressor effective, sequencer complex and steady if you dont slave it (?) big screen, just popped a SSD inside too.Glitch free for me.And loads of q liks that work fine.....Synth gets crazy too if you work with it.I actually quite like the in your face sound of it too.Bigger and more personality than the software thats for sure.I just use it as i would do any other MPC but with the extra features.ATM i have nothing to complain about. It works.BTW-i would be interested to hear whats actually getting in the way of workflow.Any flaws to watch out for.

Just a quick clear up of things - no one has chased any Akai people out of here. They have always actively chosen to not be an ongoing part of this community. Historically they briefly appeared when a new MPC was released, then promptly buggered off not to be seen again for another few years. When they were here some people gave them a hard time, but most people didn't, so I do get tired of hearing that nonsense about them being driven away, it seems like something people love to keep repeating but it's simply not true.

In previous years I have asked some of the Akai guys to be part of this forum and they have always said they are too busy to commit. These days Akai have their own forum and you'll not see any posts from Dan, Pete or Andy over there either, and that's the 'official' Akai forum. They simply don't post on forums, Dan being the exception, but he posts on Gearslutz as it's simply his long term 'hang out' forum, he's stated this before. The other guys just don't bother.

Dan excepted, what do you think the other Akai guys are going to offer the forum?

@MPC-Tutor, oops :hmmm:
Those words worry me, as it seems you are one who digs deep into the MPC, as you are making some money with your books.
I am just a regular user since not even 6 month of my first AKAI - the MPC X. But I have the same feeling. I fell for the hardware: connectivity diversity to other peripheral equipment, real time dials to manipulate the composition by ear and heart rather than clicking icons, touch-screen for quicker workflow.
But the software is not running very lean. It seems there are a lot of open threads where the software could be very much more robust.
User errors: fine. There will be always user errors in complex software, but it seems to me, that it needs more closed loops so that people are not working in a direction where they get lost - not sure if I could express it well enough. "The Power of Creative Constrains" or "Psychology of Limitations" will make us more productive - not wasting time in playing around with features but with notes.
