Second, the MPC Software is the same software that is running on the device. Some features are disabled in standalone and it has a touch UI vs a GUI but it is the same code running.

In my opinion software is the priority because it can be updated and continue to make money. The live came out in May 2017 but they have been marketing it since Jan 2017. Winter NAMM 2019 is 4 months away. Which will make it 2 years since they announced the device.

At most they have one more marketing push for these these devices. Before they get ready for the next product to take it's place. At this point, people who want the machine has bought it or is waiting for another next version. Not to mention that we can buy a live or x for half the price, barely used now.

But to get back on topic. I do hope the next update, adds and fixes some of the issue people are having. Like more options for the built in effects.

I am sure Live will improve much now, I could say its still improving much.
And I am also quite sure that standalone is the real priority, given that softwares are way too evoluted to think that Mpc software could compete with them.
I think Akai is working for the future, I am sure they knew from the beginning that Live would have been completed in at least a couple of years.
The idea of making a complete standalone device is a challenge and maybe in the future Live will be the model of dedicated standalone music production devices

Perhaps, I just learned to look at what they are pushing and follow the money. Right now it's the iMPC for $25.00 and MPC 2 Software for $200.00.

Akai's mission was to please the standalone producer and try to pull them into the software realm at the same time. For instances they won't give you more than 8 stereo tracks, why? If you want more stereo tracks head over to the software!

The software is made to be an extension of the hardware. Period! Akai is not trying to compete with ableton live. Akai is basically trying to work side by side with them.Ab Link? Come on yall. Akai has already sat the table with Ab!
Akai is not going to try to improve their software so much anytime soon.

Yeah they wwil give you some stuff but trust me DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP TO HIGH!

I don't complain it it what it is. It will never take the place of a full DAW. It can't mess with Protools HDX system!It can't mess with Reason 10.1 nor even Studio One 4, the things it has is ridiculous. And the list goes on.
USE ITS GOOD FOR:
1. Dope pads
2. Sequencer, is the dopest, the top teason l bought it.
3. It can export stems.
4. Exploding tracks. That is a dope feature on a standalone.
5. Touch screen, and that's subjective.
6. AD/DA converters are tight.
7. Dope storage options.
8. Live portable with battery, X phantom power etc.

In the last week l invested in 8 plugins for my DAW , why? Cause Akai is not going to a direct DAW level, what they have now is a superficial DAW and that's ok. I know what it is. Some people are putting expectations so high on this that they are disappointed now.
