MPC X start up load time

Hi all

Need some advice on an issue I'm getting on my mpc x.

Since recently upgrading my firmware to the 2.2.2 version from the 2.0.5, now when I turn the unit on, it stays on the mpc load screen for a good 3 or 4 minutes before it loads up. On the old version it would load in like 20-30 seconds.

Anyone else out there having/had the same problem?

Did you try to downgrade back into the previous firmware?

Looks like I'm not the only person with this then.

I havent tried downgrading yet no, good call. I might try the 2.1.0 version and see if that does the job.

I was having the same problem on my MPC live when i upgraded the firmware to 2.2.2. Had slow load time, and Also my serial number didnt show up on hardware.
Thought my MPC live was broke, and I was going to have to deal with AKAI support....

After reading thru the forums here and the akaipro forums i decided to try the recommendation of downgrading the firmware to 2.1.0. My load time was back to normal and my serial number reappeared in the preferences section of the hardware..

I would give the downgrade a try to see if that helps.. Scary!

Hopefully there is a new update soon to address the loading bug.

i also reverted back to 2.1, but unfortunately still having a slow boot up time...
let's hope they fix the bug within the next update.

I have the same issue... and it's the worst before a show... when I load up on stage and have to wait close to 5 min because I can start loading sessions.

I wonder what's causing this issue, becouse some people with the new firmware are not having this issue and some are.

did some of y'all installed heavy expansions on your ssd/hd? i think my issue has something to do with installing a gb heavy expansion to my ssd.

I have The Repository expansion (33GB) on my SSD and my startup time is normal. On 2.2.2.1

I don't have any expansions installed.

I checked on my account at Akaipro and only 2.2 is available. Anyone know how to get the 2.1 firmware? THanks.

Remember that firmware updates aren't submitted in your account but at the product page.

Its because not all MPCs were built the same. Some made with quality parts, others used cheap parts. Just look at the new RAM expansion hack, some users found inferior SD cards inside the MPC's RAM, so they copied the OS and replaced the SD card with Sandisk and they managed to expand the RAM capacity.

If Akai would have equally built these MPCs with the exact parts from one manufacturer, then I doubt we have these problems today of where one user has issues and the other doesn't.
