Velocity off when using the Live with a MIDI keyboard

How do I turn velocity to amplitude level off or at least down to a musically sensible level on this thing? The standard setting is so extremely artificially wide that unless there's something wrong with my unit I suspect the makers of this thing must be completely deaf or mentally ill.

Surely this must be possible? I remember the MPC4000 had multiple places you had to go to get to shut velocity completely off, and I assume there's something I'm missing on the Live.

despite having a Live .. have not used it much ..
currently using the mpc software on a mac ..

however .. the 2 being pretty much the same
in the sftwr .. velocity to amptitude is set within each 'program'
it's within the program edit page .. each sample layer has its own velocity parameter adjuster ..

most .. if not all .. the programs i've seen straight off the expansions .. have the velocity to amptitude set to max as a default ..

maybe there's something in the 'preferences' as well ?

am using a minilouge keyboard synth to trigger samples in the mpc sftwr .. it has its own velocity curves to choose from

There's nothing about external MIDI velocity in preferences as I can see

Right on the front panel... press full velocity button
Then just set the volume of the track or program in the mixer

There also might be an editor or a way to adjust the min and max velocity on the keyboard itself

Problem solved!

In Program Edit, LFO page, Velocity Sensitivity settings, Keygroup must be set to All. Unless you do this then it will only work for the specific pad. By choosing All it works for MIDI keyboards as well. Finally!
