So ive just bought an MPC Live and had it for a few days. everything is great with it standalone however when i start a beat in standalone mode and open it in the computer software then i have terrible distortion noises.

it appears to be a problem with clipping because only sounds that touch the red cause a problem. i have tried reducing the master level which sorts the problem out but then you have to reduce it so low its impossible to work with.Does anyone else have this problem ? or any idea why its behaving like this?

Are you using the enternal sounds from the vault? If you are its not the master you need to turn down its the individual sounds and fader you need to turn down.
A lot of those sounds clip.

nope its basically everything. Anything i sample or any stock sounds.
Im guessing its something to do with the software and will just have to turn everything down if switching between standalone and controller. if i throw a limiter on the master it will generally sort it out if you hard limit.

I have the same problem. When I make a beat in standalone it sounds great, when I wanna work on that beat in controller mode.....it clips like a mthrfckr.
So you guys think this is normal behaviour? I would think that in both modes everything should sound the same???

When l make a track in standalone or controller mode l get no clipping. Try putting a small fade at the end of that clip/region. See if that works
