OS1.7 my only gribble

Well I must say I'm very impressed by 1.7 I think its extreamly stable,

but

one thing that bugs me,

I have a song that runs about 30 tracks, the main patterns are very bussy and I know I've run out of polyphony by 1or 2 polytones (I just did a priority set to that program and no more dropping, (or the dropping is somewhere where its not that noticable),

now my gribble is that the system starts behaving very slowly not only the LCD uppdate speed but like if I press a few pads in Kgmix the MPC does not go onto thouse pads untill like 3 sec later and same for program buttons and even on bank select buttons there's a huge delay in both the time it takes the LCD to pop up to that window and then the led to go on next to that bank select button,..

if I solo a track there's no more problem, and everything is normal
but
what bugs me is that I have 89% of CPU free
+ 70% of wav and well 39% of sequenecer free

anyone else ... and I can not actif qfx on record input..

the song was generated on 1.6 though. just finishing it in 1.7

any thoughts apreciated..

hy glide ... i hear ya ... last times i often did things where i needed alot of memory (250 to 400 mbytes) or so and i noticed the same things ... the 4k gets fukkin slowly - esp. when browsing in program mode ... if i stopped the sequencer i often feared it just crashed coz everythin reacts 3 seconds later as you say ... but dunno ... its just like that atm and i hope they gonna improve on it ... btw: wasn't 1.60 supposed to make those things faster? doesn't really seem so to me ... for the rest i m happy with os 1.70

Akai surly must adress this as there's plenty of CPU power avalible,
prehaps they are resorving it for other big features and don't want to mess the code before fixing things like LCD uppdate speed untill thouse big features are in the code, as they'll have to re-code every time they fix it??, but I know fuk all about programing and codes,, so I dunno, can't say I'm glad you can relate ;) but at least I know its actually OS related and not CPU

akai has bypassed this function in 1.7 at first I thought it had something to do with the large session but if I try accessing it just after power on (with no prossessing power used) its still not there,

again I think this has something to do with them releasing 1.7 as a pre mature OS only to stay loyal to their word on releasing an OS in December, the big one is yet to come...

Afaik, the CPU percentage shown in the Memory page on the mpc is an indication of cpu ram, and not cpu cycles. It is described in the ref manual. I don't think there's an indication is cpu cycles available.
