Regarding Time-Stretch

What do you guys think of the time-stretch? was it better with the old mpc's? (only had a 1000 for a short while).

I am asking because i have a hard time making my disco samples sound good, even 4-5 bpm increase is too dirty/much artifacts for my taste.

So then i tried the "Match" to BPM with Tune (which sounds REALLY cool for this kind of housemusic) but the problem i have now is i cant play over it with a bass or piano because its pitched like +1.76, so it clashes

In this case i only can use a filtered bass version of the sample thats it.

I think i will use the warp on ableton and maybe also the pitch because im not so fond of the pitch-shift in the Live (need to test it on more samples though)

Timestretch is pretty good. Its got artifacts but its usable. If you don't vape cannabis into the MPC, the timestretch will not know the time you stretched it.

The real-time time stretch in the standalone is horrible to me. You can barely stretch it without it sounding like it’s been bit crushed and distorted.

The offline time stretch is dope to me though, I have no issues with it. And in the software i just use the maximum algorithm, and that sounds good also offline and real-time.

Maybe you can use the real-time in standalone as a placeholder and then open it in the software to fix it? I’ll try that today.

Maybe this is why disc streaming is on the back burner?

yeah, i guess im beeing spoiled by pc time-stretch algorhythms...i use offline timestretch for now.

its a shame that some samples pitched via Tune sound so good but as i said you cant add instruments on top of it cause of the tuning...

Works for me! Most of my tracks are 83.00 BPM so I try to get a loop around that and tune the sample to match.

When you say offline, do you mean doing time stretch in the MPC software with the MPC in controller mode?

Using the time stretch option in sample edit mode. Where you pick the tempo and then it processes.
