How to delete all content / factory reset?

Hey, I'm wanting to "start fresh" and delete everything on my MPC Live (all my content - I don't need to delete the samples that came with it). Will a simple factory reset do the trick? I read somewhere that this won't delete the samples within a project, just the project itself.

Factory reset won’t delete the content.It will reset system preferences..You have to delete content manually but be careful cause many users accidentally deleted not only samples but other system content too and had to return their unit to AKAI to reinstall that content..I wouldn’t touch it if I were you..Just grab yourself an external SSD and you’re done.I hooked up a Samsung EVO Pro 512GB from day 1 and i’m hassle free

Wow, that's kind of a pain in the butt if you ever want to sell your MPC live. Thanks for the reply, and the suggestion, though.

You really shouldn't be saving your own content to the internal drive as it's very difficult to back it up. There's no direct access to that drive via USB so the only way to backup all your hard work is to load one project at a time into memory and then resave it to an external disk, which is a PITA.

The best option is to use either an internal SATA or a USB disk/SD Card for all your own projects - these can easily be backed up via USB/controller mode etc.

If you want to quickly delete your own stuff off the internal drive, you could delete the entire MPC Documents folder (select it, hold down SHIFT, DELETE), or if you want to keep the MPC folder, go inside and manually delete each project one by one.

Ah, thanks! Yeah, as far as saving stuff on an external disc, that wasn't all that obvious when I bought it - right when it came out - but I do keep my newer stuff on an external disc.
