What´s up!

I copped a MPC X some time ago, before that I had a Ren. The Ren came with a Pro Tools Express software.
Can I use that pro tools version with the X as the hardware or is it just limited to the Ren?

Thanks in advance!

You're not telling us how you plan to use it

Well I simply wanna use it as the software which I can track in my beats with, nothing else really… I´ve installed it on my new PC and wanted to use it with my mbox 2 but PT didn´t recognize that one as the audio interface. On my old computer I used it with the Ren as the interface, now I wonder if the software recognises the X as the hardware, too!

MBox 2? I thought they burned those and they don't exist lol.
Seriously , is way outdated and l don't know if Avid has update support on the MBox. Wasn't MBox on 32 bit? And the Akai software only operates 64 bit it doesn't support 32 bit. So it won't connect. Someone corrct me if lm wrong. I left PT in 2012 for the issues it brought me with the Le system. Plus you must have an old version of PT.

Best option l see in tracking in and out is to import and export stems. If lm understanding you correctly.

hahaha yeah I know that shit is old a.f.… but it works fine with my new PC with win 10 and it is 64 bit! Thinking about upgrading though of course..
The point is I bought the Ren with PT 10 express and I used it to mix my beats. that PT was a special akai version using the Ren as the audio interface! So all I wanted to know is can my X be the audio interface instead of the Ren? I´m thinking about going from Pt to cubase f.e. but I´m so used to the PT workflow. plus a full version of PT is about 500 bucks or something.. waayy to expensive for me.. so i want to stick with an older version..

You ever demo pro tools first. It’s similar to express but your projects are stored in the cloud. It was free.

Can’t help you with express because I upgraded my express to the full version a long time ago.

To if it was a special edition for the Ren l don't see with logic how it could work with the X. Total different machine. The X is an interface but l just don't know about this setup you're trying to setup.

Try it out.
