Hey guys,

I just watched The Daydream Sound's latest video and now I'm obsessed with the idea of doing this in my MPC X.

Can we deactivate the Anti-Aliasing filters in the MPC X/ Live?

I don't get it.

Is the video in the initial post visible? I prefer that lo-fi sound you get when you deactivate anti-aliasing.

You have many good ways to achieve a lo-fi flavour in MPC Live.
I really like decimator for that. You also have a master comp with an old school option, a nice ring and so on.
I don't think its a good idea to turn off the anti aliasing filter

Mpc live effects are very light with cpu.
You can use as many you like and still the cpu is under 10 per cent.
Audio and warping take much more cpu power.

I don't really like those Akai internal effects they might be low CPU, but they are not very good quality compared to UAD, Eventide, SoundToys, Waves, Softube, and slate to name a few.

Distortions and filters are very good.
Compression and eq are quite good.
Analog delay is very nice.
Reverbs and modulations suck.

I'm sorry I don't agree. But maybe I'm too spoiled on the highest quality plugins I invest in. The stock plugins are semi-decent and possibly passable for maybe a live performance setting, but nothing I would consider for a serious record release.

I invested in my MPC X mostly because of sampling and sequencing strengths but there are also it's weaknesses and I consider the built-in effects one of them. The only hard ware developer who done internal effects right is Ensoniq and they don't even exist anymore.

Well I find distortions work great with line level materials and I really like to play the filter with qknob and high resonation.
I also like analog delay a lot.
I also come.from eventide and soundtoys on mac.
I tell you, try to work with fx a bit, chaining them and opening and closing them with qlinks.
As for reverb, I route the return out to a RV500 because mpc reverbs are really useless.
