Is there a way to latch/ hold and loop a sample or continue a note on sample playing out yet? could do it on 1000/2500 by holding pad and track mute, there is dedicated button for it on most roland sp range

Probably not what you're looking for... but you can do SHIFT and NOTE REPEAT to latch NOTE REPEAT. You still have to hold the note down for it to retrigger though, which I'm pretty sure is not what you are looking for.

Any reason you wouldn't want to just use a sequence to keep triggering the note at the start of the measure?

Cheers, yeah thats no good, i play mpc live live with no sequences, i can do this latch/hold loop or not on sp303 and digitakt which can both do this easily, would be expected in this coming update as is basic legacy mpc feature that has been missing since ren/studio release and seriously basic thing to implement

What i want is a variation of note on behaviour eg, sample plays as note on when pressed then hold down sample and another key and it plays out to the end of the sample or loops indefinately if set to loop, this was done in the 1000/2500 by pressing the pad then track mute would latch/hold the sample until it was stopped, i want this

Yeah i thought so, such basic standard sampler function, i dont understand why akai has avoided this option when theyre busy adding free plug in instruments instead of finishing the sampler they started

I totally agree and expected clip mode to be more functional. My 2000xl didn’t have this option but JJOS did. JJOS 3 optimized the pad loop by also offering a setting for quantized retrigger as well. This is the functionality I want to see in the Live. If they sort out clip mode, and I believe they eventually will, it will be a pad mode I won’t need.
