To be fair though, the update is great. The fools flaming it are just trolling. I for one am quite happy with it. But there are still some things like this that should be addressed. I still want a quicker way to reset the beat counter!

maybe, but remember if you do that, then all your old programs, all your old drum sequences, songs etc wont play correctly, and any imports from old Akai libraries wont play right. This was the main reason we stuck with the OG mapping. I'll have a think about it.

as to resetting the beat counter, if you have an X, it's just hold LOCATE and press <<

Mr. xparis, is Akai going to fix clip mode soon so we can use it and let it play while switching to a synth or a drum program?
I really need it since it's the main reason I bought MPC Live.
Anyway 2.3 update is fabulous, thanks so much for improving this great device.

Yeah, I'm using the Live in standalone, so it's tap and +/- or data wheel for the beat counter which works but is not fluid or as intuitive as I'd like when performing.

With regards to being able to quickly set a pad program to play chromatically I may have been a bit confusing as to what I'd like to see. To clarify, it makes the most sense to have an option in the program mode to determine how the pads will play and respond to incoming MIDI notes. What you are saying about having a template or setting that affects the machine on a project level, or globally so to speak, makes alot of sense. It would really be of great convenience to have this option and to be honest seems like a no brainer.

This update has me thinking what else might be possible with the new MPCs than ever before. It makes small oversights like this harder to accept

Anyway this update shows the commitment I think alot of us need to see. And THANK YOU for coming through here and engaging with the forum. I follow the GS thread too, but mostly for your input, updates and teasers. Like everyone, I'd love to have a clearer picture of the road map and what is or is not possible for the unit. It was a long wait for this update but it was worth it. Easy download and install and so far no issues. I hope we don't have to wait as long for the next one but I won't mind if it shrinks my short list of feature requests

Wow I haven't been this excited about an MPC in awhile! Definitely gonna grab a Live now! Built-in Plugin synths!

Can anyone tell me if they've added more progressions and chord possibilites to chord mode since 1.9?

The plugins in pad perform mode are something else. Those plugs are really dope and it's something I really wanted since I bought my LIVE at launch.

I've been using xfade loop but I can't wrap my head around it, it feels like there are too many steps. I got one loop that sounded great with crossfade enabled. I tried with another one and couldn't nail it.

This update is Sweet!!! I really like the new plugins they have added. In playing around with the plugins synths, i like the fact that the when i select parameters on the plugins the q-links follow what i select on the touch screen. Nice!

Akai should implemented this with other menus that use the q-links! Would be nice to not use the q-link button to scroll thru. If I could select a parameters in Sample Edit menu on the touch screen and the q-link section just moves along with what I select on screen, that would improve my sample editing, program editing, pad mixer, etc, work flow on my MPC Live!

The use of that q-link button to navigate q-links is Annoying. Doing 2-3 extra steps to complete something that could obviously be handled in 1! Especially after seeing how i can put the Electric plugin on a track, and select envelope section on the touch screen, and the q-link just follows. Thank god I dont have to use the q-link button to shuffle thru everything!

Hopefully they can implement that for MPC Live/Touch users in a near future update (Hint: bug fix update)! Don't think its that hard to implement, seeing as they already implemented it on the 3 new plugins. This is my only issue, other than that, My MPC Live is solid!

Have to say, I’m impressed with this update. Still would like to see PDC, but all in all, this looks like some hard work has been done. Hope to see more of the AIR instruments and effects make it to the stand alone hardware.

I'm really bummed that there's still no VST plug-in sidechaining or VST multi-output support.

Very happy with this update... now all we need is that stereo reverb!

The best update so far for me.

The arpeggiator, pad shortcuts, and new instruments are great. The effects GUI are long overdue and marry up well with the qlinks, although there's so much empty space on the various screens that a strong argument can be made for an 'effects rack' to fill the space and make chaining effects more intuitive. The instruments also don't make the best use of the available screen real estate on the Live. I hope they can be tweaked to fill the screen on the various pages.

Nice update here!!! However, I have a few questions concerning features I still would like to see implemented in a future update:

Will there be a comprehensive modulation matrix as well as an auxiliary envelope added to the sampler engine like what is found in the MPC4000?

If that is not possible, could there at least be a dedicated pitch envelope added to the sampler engine?

Also, could a screensaver function be added to turn off the touchscreen LCD when the machine has sat idle for a user adjustable period of time? When a button or pad is pressed on the machine or a midi message is received, the screen would come back on again. This would be an excellent feature to preserve the life of the display.
