I just got my MPC X a few days ago and for the most part, things are going smoothly. However, I'm trying to figure out why I'm not getting any volume levels when trying to sample audio from my smart phone.
My Android ZTE is plugged into my MPC X using a 3.5mm plugged into the headphone jack on my cell phone, and the other end of the cable is a Y splitter with red/white RCA connections. These are plugged into the RCA on the back of the MPC next to where it says 3/4.
I then go into sampler and engage the track, and I see levels.. but the levels are so quiet that when I actually record, I can't hear anything. The input on the MPC in the sampler is set to 1 and it's set to stereo. I've also tried other inputs to see if the signal would change but it didn't. Basically the level of the signal is so low it's right next to -inf.
Can someone please help? Is there some sort of gain knob that I'm failing to turn up? I know the issue is probably something super simple. PS - was having the exact same level issues when plugging the 3.5 mm into the headphone jack on my PC as well. So it's not just with the cell phone. The only knob that seems to change the gain levels is the 3/4 REC GAIN knob. Even maxed out the level is still hovering near -inf.
