here we go again.. another question.. After a couple of months that I´ve got my X I installed the software and tried to connect my X to my computer. strangely my PC recognizes the X as a usb drive but when I try to change to controller mode the screen on the X just says "searching for computer" but it doesn´t succeed. Probably the solution is easy but I don´t get it...

IF the software is closed the mpc screen is looking for computer, but when you open the software it should not look for computer. One time it was still looking for computer, restarted computer and was back to normal.
Don’t pull out the usb cable without ejecting the mpc.

Aslo make sure that you are connecting with a USB 3.0 cable to an USB 3.0 port. I had a few USB 2.0 devices connected to my computer and the 3.0 protocol
didn't like that and just refused to work.

If you are on pc, when you click the installer, the mpc icons pop up. Select the live, you will see a dialog tree. The first one say install software and the second option should be either install audio drivers/ or mpc live drivers.

OK now I know what You mean. but there´s still a problem: The first option in the installer is "re install MPC software" and the second one is "install MPC X driver" now when i click on that it says "your computer must restart" .. it says I have to restart my PC and rerun the installer. After I´ve restarted it it still says the same stuff again, it doesn´t work!

Nah it doesn´t work.. when I click on "install MPC X driver" first it says that I have to restart the pc (which I did several times now…) and then it says "installer error /failed to launch this item, please try again". I even reinstalled the software a couple of times to see if this helps but... this is frustrating.. I tried to google this problem but I didn´t really find a solution..

What operating system are you trying to install to? Won't work on windows 7. You need to be running windows 8 or 10 to get up and running. Another thing I like to add is even though the mpc x or live has usb 3.0 connections. I find out for my systems running windows 8 and 10. My mpc x connection to the pc only works if I use a usb port 2.0 on my pc. Not all usb 3.0 port controller drivers from the motherboard seem to work. So try the usb 2 port.

thanks for the response! I´m using a new PC with windows 10. I have the software installed already, that doesn´t seem to be the issue. I also tried both the USB 3 and USB 2 ports.. I just don´t know why I can´t install the drivers - I guess without the proper drivers there´s no chance to get it running..
