Same here. Besides the fact I have to re install 2.3 every time I try to use the MPC software there's a lot of bugs and annoying glitches

-Can't automate XY effects anymore
-Touch screen has way too much latency. (try adjusting level of audition in browser. Half the time it doesn't even work)
-Midi is ****! Playback stops every time when trying to record a midi channel

And this is coming from somebody who loves the Live. It's been a beast for me since buying it at release. This update is super glitchy so **** it

In controller mode, what platform are you on? Mac or PC? Operating system?

Read my previous post.. You don't have to install 2.3 everytime.. you can have both 2.1 and 2.3 (or a newer version) on your system at the same time.

Mukiw wrote:Anyone want to chime in with their 2 cents and help me figure out what I should buy to go with the MPC Live? I have a budget of around $500 to $1000 (slightly over that at a push) for either one of more pieces of gear. I keep flip flopping between a Waldorf Blowfeld (because it's multi timbral), an analogue synth like a Deepmind 12d, or an effects processor which I could resample into the Live (like a Korg KP3 or something similar). I've even been thinking about going for pretty much any one of the Elektron boxes (including Analogue Heat). I don't need anything genre specific, just some gear that will really work hand in hand with the Live.

PS - I have a new iPad so I guess apps are an option too. Anyone got any experience of using Modstep (http://modstep.net) with X/Live?

You've asked a way too open ended question... but...

Get a midi interface like the iRig Midi2 for the iPad. For short money you can get some really good synths, Fugue is a really interesting "arp", and you can sample stuff off youtube, internet radio stations, etc...

If you don't have a keyboard, the next thing I'd look into might be either a synth with keys, or just a usb midi device.

All the other gear really depends on if you want to do sound sculpting etc... send me a PM if you want more advice.

I think you're missing the point. I install 2.3 on my computer and it works until I close it out and then when I try to reopen it it goes back to 2.1 This is regardless of how many versions I have on my computer.

Has anyone any ideas as to why my external drives are not accessible in standalone mode since updating to 2.3?

I can see them but they are greyed out in the browser - the only accessible drive is the internal one no matter what format I have the externals in

Puzzled!

Eject the External Drives and re-insert them. If it persists, you may need to re-format them

I’ve Already tried that - reformatted 2 SD cards and a usb stick to exfat -which was working fine before the update

Whats up everyone.

Im on a PC , Dell Latitude, win 10 and when l installed 2.3 everything works fine. In standalone and controller mode. Autimation is working fine, 3 new plugins work fine, USB sticks etc. Ima find out in a lil while if the 16 bit conversion to 24 bit works when exporting in standalone.

From looking at the post and people's different problems it seems to me a lot of human errors are occurring. I could be wrong. Im no one special that mines work as suppose to.

2.3 came at the right time, just got hired to do some work. If everything goes well the first quarter of next year l will be put on a big project.
I have to admit Reason 10.1 and the Live have given me a great push in the right direction.
Most important ti me is, exporting, exploding, sensitive touch screen and the sexy sequencer on the live. Rocking in standalone is so lovely, l don't have to turn on a computer . l can just rock.

Can you do me a favor? Try to automate the xy effect on a sequence. Specifically, Automate a tape stop half way through sequence.

J.O. Here's the deal. When you go to XY efx turn it from - Outs 1/2, to "Program" to make it work.

Yes the XY efx work great. Also the tape stop. But its wack to me. I'd rather use the Izotope tape stop.

Peace

Yes, I know it can only automate on a program. So you’re saying xy automation still works in 2.3 in stand-alone for you?

I use the xy with great affect. You can get some cool transitions and change ups. I’m like a 95% stand-alone user. Really only use the software for exporting and file management etc. But thx for the izotope suggestion
