Hello all! I just signed up and am new to this forum.

I am the proud new owner of an MPC X, I couldn’t be more happy especially since Akai released an update that included X-Fade the day I bought it.

Most of my production involves the use of hardware synths/analog drum machines and sequencing along with using samples collected via rare groove etc.

My question:
What would be the best way to get the sequences from the synths and drum machines to line up with the samples and sequencing from the X?

Should I just record the individual sequences from the synths and drum machines via the sampler and assign them to a pad?

Or is there a more creative/efficient way to do this?

Thanks everyone!

Congrats on getting the X!

Really depends on what type of sequences and how you like to work. I personally use audio tracks pretty much exclusively when recording external gear. But you could also sample and assign to a pad, or use the looper and assign the loops to a pad.

My best suggestion is to try them all and see which one works best for you :)
