SCSI 6 spaz out need help

i got a new zipdrive and when i go to the SET UP to set the mpc to 6 it skips from 5 to 7 and 7 to 5 it wont let me select 6 and it doesnt recognise 5 on my new drive so i turnoff the mpc and unplug the zip start it up again and the LCD screen loads up showing the SAVE screen (wich it doesnt normaly do) then goes back to the main window and in SET UP it still wont let me choose 6 and ive made sure the terminations ON on the back of the zip drive so any ideas on what it could be

on the back of the zip drive there is a little black switch......slide it from 6 to 5 and then power up ur mpc

i done that and i doesnt recognise 5 it say not detected and the mpcwont let me choose 6 skips between 5 and 7

I think there is something in the archives about Iomega using crappy switches that didn't actually switch.

I really do not understand why anyone would put anything as valuable as their on music on an Iomega product anyway. This forum is full of problems with Zip drives.
